Steve Wheeler, new Golf perv hundreds of miles from the last outpost of civilisation in Canada has his old neighbor from when he was a weee lad out in windswept Newfoundland going down--Tony Penney..
Now Tony being a good guy has told Steve that he would gladly haul back to Edmonton 2 struts and 2 shocks, since they take up virtually no space, a very nice offer,.
Thing is we have to find somebody going up who is leaving from South of the South side of beautiful Sleezattle who might be kind enough to detour 4-5 minutes off of I-5 and pick up the aforementioned struts and shocks that Toney so generously offered to haul back..

So everybody has room, but is anybody willing to make a wee detour to save a struggling guy who's at that most expensive step in his rally career?

Steve's here often enough. PMs work, phones work..

Help a guy out. We collectively do a lotta patting ourselves on the back about the camaraderie and how nice rally folks are. These two old neighbors are the sorta guys who would gladly do the same.

I heard there might be a little bit of snow already up there too. Sweep crew photo.

About this time every year I start thinking about if I could make it up last minute. Car's actually not far from rallyable but no heater might be a bummer.

Thanks a lot John!
You can get ahold of me @ 78O-6I4-O395 and I can put you in touch with Tony (Towona on here).
Greatly appreciated!

Defroster is much more important than heater... but that's just a plumbing difference.

Hey John, why not turn this into a nice cross-border roadtrip weekend for you and the girlies?
It's a great chance to hit the road and head north for a nice change AND have a chance to check out the state of the sport just north of you.

Want to volunteer to help Steve wheel out? see above a few posts.
Its 8 min
4.6 mile from the I-5/I-405 intersection and it would be a big help.

I don't really miss that drive. 1200 miles, 20 hours. It's actually faster for me to drive to Denver.

It was a pretty fun event though.

I might be able to do that.

I plan on leaving really damn early in the morning on Sat. Prolly leave Portland/Vancouver area around 4am. How much space we talking? Also chances of getting held up at the border? (I got held up last time, argh). Might be easier to throw them in with one of the teams and their service rigs and other parts.

Just 2 shocks and 2 stuts, and yeah super easy for anybody going up--just looks like more spares and junk.. That's why we came up with the idea..
Let's call it a E plan..
That comes from some young guys in Yakima who got their suspensuion for their Subi a couple of months ago, the older being just outta the Army where they have this thing on planning they call "PACE":
Primary plan
Alternative plan
Contingency plan
Emergency plan

maybe something will turn up.
