Saab V4/96 rally

Don't know why but I love seeing these things rallying. And I'm sure some others will like it too.

You may just have a chance to see a nice 96 this summer if RallyAmerica doesn't completely collapse and burn. A friend in Nude Hamster bough my old spare car and has built it into a pretty good spec car over the years....only real problem is the conflicting rules interpretation on the cage rules. The car weighs 1950lbs and the main hoop is 1.5" x .120, which is fine the world around except rally america insists it must be 1.75 x .095. Groan

Ahh! Been thru Bangor on a memorable trip on the way to Baie de Chaleurs. Blew up a wheel bearing on the dolly on the way up on 4th of July, blew the tire out later, blew ring and pion on the 96 rally car and DNFed, blew a couple u-joints in the van driveshaft, then killed the trans, swapped that in a cafe parking lot way up North and then about 70 miles from Bangor blew the engine in the van..

Nice area..Its was 4th of July so the snow had pulled back a couple of weeks before and there were only some older, slower mosquitoes circling on the updrafts above the truck..They'd come in out of the sun to trick you but I could hear them comin..

So is that year Supra the year with the looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong 6 in it? Solid axle still or the IRS.. Have lots of spares? That's the only big drawback I see is the scarcity of fenders and hoods and windshields.

Long 2.8L 6cyl. And IRS I like em and it's a car I know. Not many spare yet but i got some spare 3.0L engines and just got a lead one two possible complete parts cars.

Sounds like a horrible trip through Maine.
