Was the allignment out on the car or had it been bent before the event?
Steering wheel wasn't 'centred' for straight ahead and the back end seemed as if it were on casters.

When I took some advanced driver training years and years ago, they really pushed the importance of keeping both hands on the steering wheel as much as possible... seems your style is less so.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I have one question, not rally related, however. Can you mount the video camera lower, so you get more "out" the windshield, and less of the top windshield bar of the cage? Regardless, really cool.

Visual land marking, even when in the peripheral vision. Why do you think 'rally' steering wheels often have markers on them? Many times in the vid you see the car being steered away from the turn by (presumably) not knowing were 'straight ahead' was.

From my own experience, both hands on the wheel makes a HUGE difference in control. (Admittedly, Tom McGeer was famous for single handing the wheel... coming from a 'one hand on the stick, one on the throttle' background.)

Keith,

I know about the visual landmarks...

My point was sort of tongue in cheek, as I got similar comments from my posts of vids of '14 Pines. It was on the that "to do" list that never gets done in the preceding days after you had the rack apart, and didn't get the splines sorted...

And I'll honestly bet, most of the yellow tape is for show winking smiley

Cheers. winking smiley

Matt, you know me. I just have to state the fucking obvious before anyone else has a chance because that makes me appear to be more important to the sport than I am.
(in before JV with that comment)

the wheel wasn't aligned due to a literal last minute fix.
