Parker Amchem was a chemical manufacturer and they're called Henkel Surface Technologies now. They make hundreds of different surface treatments. Care to add some context to that question?

Then it's just Type 2 Class 2 anodizing after the spec has been run thru the marketing department.

Type 2 is soft + Type 3 is hard ? Both are sulfuric acid

class 1 is clear + class 2 is color?

This is as I understood it... So Type 2 Class 2 would be a soft anodize in color.

Yeah or Nah?

Yeah, if you just walk into a plating shop and say I want it anodized (blank) color you will get type II class II. There are only a couple of variations like specifying the type of seal. I doubted anyone was getting to fancy on a shift knob.
