We kind of do... it's called an event.
LOTS of good discussion and back and forth is had at events, particularly events with turn-around stages.
If you go to events, then you also get a good feeling for who - on facebook and on forums - is active and has a current IRL perspective.

Yea, but I find that people are so spread out the it's hard to make real connections or get to know them.

I've been to 15 events (I think). Most in a course car or course bike. Also as crew or competitor. I only ever talk to most rally car people at an event.

The bike guys have a much better social system overall, and I have gotten to know several of them fairly well.

Dang.... my UID and password still work here after 5-6 years away from the rally scene. You missed your chance LOL

I too am trying to catch up, and hearing that FB is where a lot of folks have gone is not good news. Sounds like the old days of SCCA mailing the event results were better!

I'll be trying to catch up; don't even know what events are still running.
