High Desert Trails Rally May 4th 2019

12th Consecutive Running of HDTPR will be May 4th, 2019

Posted on March 26, 2019 by Kris
Going for its 12th year, the modern High Desert Trails Performance Rally is now a must do event in Southern California. Since 1973 the roads Southwest of Ridgecrest have been home to the event, and takes competitors through fast and flowing valleys and tight and twisty forest sections in the beautiful high desert on county roads. Competitors tackle hundreds of miles with over 4,000 feet of elevation changes.

Anyone going who is not on the entry list below?

Workers, volunteers, organizers?

Well I see a few familiar names in that entry list.

Looks like Danny Downey, one of the top drivers in 2wd stock class back when I was still doing grass-o-cross has graduated to co-driving in a Toyota Tacoma.

And I didn’t notice till I was looking at the entry list this morning that the mustang Driver listed here ,Jason Hamilton is a Rallyanarchista.

Remember this thread?

Hilarious!

Embrace the derpage!

Oh well my intentions were good.

Anyway glad you posted John and thanks for the correction.

I’m just glad somebody even answered here with the crickets and all...

Honestly a few days ago I was just thinking -hey I should volunteer at high Desert trails... I wonder when it is?

So I Check the calendar -oh crap it’s this weekend!

Already promised to help someone with an event this weekend-but figured I’d post up the rally here on the best rally site on the Internet -even if nobody ever comes here anymore (which of course makes me sad.)

Hell I’d settle for bickering like we used to have....

Anyway hope all is well with you John-you keeping busy with projects and making suspenders still?

It’s hard for me to gauge the health of United States stage rally-I don’t do Facebook and RallyAnarchy and Special stage and even Dirty Impreza are all complete deadsville so...

I do look in but this sport has changed..Local small time guys over on Basefook getting huffy because I asked why they think they need Reigers --WRC quality suspension--was he a WRC driver fighting for the podium?----to drive in a little event with 21 cars this week end "answer" " I can buy whatever I want..and how do you know I'm not?...and 7-8 Likes to his tough guy answer>

Well I know you are cause I saw the results..

I don't know anymore if i want to hang out around guys who answer a simple question like that..
Or who dream that they reasonably should be spending 6-8-10,000 for a lousy ass little plaything to race in events nobody but the participants care about..Its absurd.

Not making suspenders now..partner Bob who was like 74 decided to close shop and the first run at another place machined this wrong and not merely the tubes..also some flywheels and it killed me..Besides, it was really tiresome to try and make something good for a reasonable price when there's so many greedy fucks pushing sjit just so they can try and make money like the shitbag in SanDiego who was utter liar BSer selling Alibaba specials stright outta Anhui province with 110mm travel for some years --no i remember.."FAT-out" or some BS and had some web page and his moron customers were fiercely loyal--but of course they're in Blubarus so wot the fuck do they know? 110mm travel is 50mm less than stock in front and 100mm less travel that stock in rear...
But the idiots believe the liar and defend the fuck outta him, and then are THRILLED with his latest offerings (maybe 3 years ago) LONG TRAVEL NOW NEW!!! with a fucking 160mm travel..like stock front, 50mm less that stock rear....
62-63% of the cars being Blubarus, and of them about 90% being mere consumers who know sweet fuck all but are so insecure and whiny----it got tiresome..

So I'm mainly cleaning, prepping a few engines, selling some stuff and shaking my head at the pitiful show (like a mere 18 year old kid coming and stomping the entire country)..

So after all these years, still no base...just X-Treme!!! and press releases saying "Next week we'll reveal our new vinyl wrap" What horseshit.

Wow really sorry to hear you are done with suspension. John...

I think that other suspension company you were talking about must be flat out suspension...

Honestly I’ve never heard of them.

I usually hear the Subaru guys talking about a different brand-Feal-Odi’s company.

A quick googling of Flatout suspension shows pretty much all bad....

Sounds like junk parts and the guys a fraud ..seems mostly pissed off people....

And I just guess I am a dinosaur not liking Facebook....and I do click on it and try to read that shit but fuck I hate it..

I sure hope skye keeps this site going because there is a lot of information here... even if it’s older...

The last few days I’ve been reading lots old threads here....really good stuff.

Not making suspenders now..

You will have to make at least another set, just to have somebody annoying the fuck out of those guys in subarus.
