I was aimlessly surfing the Intra-Webs and I happened to see this at that site where I'm banned, it's hilarious:

Default Gay Gold Shoes I'm sorry, but the picture on the front of the site of the gold DC shoes with 199 on them is actually the gayest thing I have ever seen. Jeez Louise. What was the reason Alpinestars made those shoes for Tommi, do you remember ? Do you think Tommi and Travis are equals in talent and contribution to the sport ? Wilson is right those shoes are obnoxious and ridiculous. Yet again so was Liberace and they built him a museum. __________________ Cheers M.Samli #15 Old 02-23-2008, 06:08 PM Easy Rider Easy Rider is offline Join Date: Dec 2002 Location: Edmonton, AB, Canada. They made the shoes for Tommi on his retirement from the sport. Ken made them for Travis for winning the Rally America Championship. Are they equal in Rally driving talent . . . of course not. Biggest difference is Ken (friend and sponsor) . . . um . . . runs a shoe company. In terms of obnoxious and ridiculous . . . to each their own. Surf for some of the weird shoes out there - it is a totally different culture. To come on here and post that they are ghey - simply because they aren't to your taste - - is lame. Would I like to be in a position to some day be worthy of getting a pair (win a championship) - - you bet - who wouldn't. Easy Rider r #16 Old 02-23-2008, 06:35 PM wvonkessler wvonkessler is offline Actually, my comment was more directed to the absurd and absolute gall that it would take to obviously mimic Tommi's shoes with someone whose achievement cannot in any way be compared than to the actually gayness of gold shoes. However, I would slap my brother if he had them on, and I have point blank told my mother-in-law that I thought her gold shoes were reminiscent of Little Richard. When Travis can match 24 WRC wins, then maybe he can step into Tommi's shoes. Right now, he can't even play with the PWRC boys. And actually I take issue with anything constructive that Travis' involvement has brung to rally in the US, or anywhere else. But since you have obviously bought into all of the hoopla, and are a DC shoes dealer as well, I would expect your loyalties to lie appropriately. I do, however, appreciate your support of Patrick Richard for the record. Wilson Quote: __________________ JVL got a raw deal.
