I ran across this on another forum. Probably already well known, but I'm posting the link anyway, just fun to watch...

Well known but there is a good reason for that. Some of the most committed driving I have ever seen.

Wow, he was only a few inches away from ending his rally several times... Pure skill, or just luck?

Ya know, when I went and watch Monte Carlo in 93 and when I've been to some Northern English BTRDA events the most striking thing I noticed about the stages, aside from how squiggly the roads were , was the narrowness of the roads.

And same thing when I went to Swedish WRC and then to a local District Championship event which was held in the general area where I used to live. The roads were often---usually just a bit wider, maybe a foot on either side, than the width of a car like a Celica or a Sierra.

I have driven probably a million miles on these skinny ass roads when i lived in Sweden, but back then I was a moto-cross guy and I was just driving down them to get to a track or a sand quarry and wasn't thinking about driving fast down them, but holy shit when 15 years later, being a rally guy I sure as hell was looking at them like "what if I was trying".
It was down right scary to contemplate.

THEN I thunk of the average MPH or km/hr that even the B licence guys were averaging, and it was like a big slap in the face.

Those skinny roads and speeds just like we average on our virtual freeways says that those guys are driving with a lot more skill.

And the Manx roads are noted as being skinnier than average.

I think they're used to it!
