What's new on the XRatti front?
May 29, 2008 05:10PM
Greetings from Soviet Canuckistan. I was in the gulag for a while but now I'm back and hopefully going to finish my lil project car that's been gathering moss for a while....

So what bits & bobs have you boys made since I've been gone?

I thought Skye had retired to New Zealand or something. Oh, he left his retirement fund there...now I understand. tongue sticking out smiley

Get the @#$^%#@ car finished! My shell is rusting in the back yard, probably beyond (reasonable) repair.

My street XR4 starts, but that's about it. Need a couple uninterrupted weeks and some cash to finish that off.

Front brakes done and tested, result: Soooper Bitchin
Rear brakes roughed out, just have to say OK and get the calipers and discs in stock.
Downpipe jigs will be made next week

Beam is on a car and we'll go check a final look-see if we need to change anything before knocking out the first 5
Driveshaft adaptors made, awaiting bolt circles.

When youse going to come visit?

Awesome!! That just leaves.... the accessory brackets for the P/S pump and alternator? Damn getting close. I just started working FT again and my first cheque hasn't cleared but I'll make sure to put some aside.

Yeah every time we come down that way we end up in the grim world of South Hill, Puyallup and don't see any friends or comrades sad smiley I'll drop Ali off at a shoe store next time and come visit for a few hours.

Xrattis are still prohibitively expensive here in the land of Moscow on the Mississippi. The only one currently available is $2500. Yikes! Not that I've got a garage to work on one if I owned one, or a real roof over my head.... but a man has to have priorities right? grinning smiley

You can sleep in your car, but you can't pitch your house sideways around a hairpin corner.

Jig is done for Xratty downpipes using Cossie turbine housings.
Add your name if you're going to want a downpipe or whole system:
Skye
Seattle Scott
Spokane Scott?
Wyatt *
DJ *
Matt Smith *
Jason Frumby*
John Cassidy in Maine?
William Steel Solutions *
Me *

Estimated price for stainless 3" downpipe is $225

The plans are for the rest of the system, very likely to get bashed, in plain steel

Count me in. I'll be able to get a start on the xratty now that the DSM is gone!

How much are cossie turbines by the way...and where to find one?
