Absolutely. Remember I spent nearly 20 years riding lots WEEKLY and all that was when suspension was in serious evolution---that's where i learned suspension, too.

I have been told I have compression a C5 and C6 and that's probably why my entire left neck/shoulder, arm and hand either tingles like needles or BURNS like being bashed with baseball bats if I get so cocky as to try and use my left side to wrench on something. (Really there's very specific arm positions which cause the pain which really is blinding---and that's coming from somebody once descibed as "sorta dumb animal" regarding working under pain. Ask FIASCO Andrew Steere or Mike White, both who generously helped pack my shop when I was in fawkin Bawstin and was returning, when its bad I seem drunk or delirious and smoke like a fiend)

It was my sister who I hadn't seen for a number of years who first pointed out I was ?"suddenly" shorter than our father when once I had been same size so I asked an othopod next time i was getting a knee rebuilt and he said "Oh yeah, he's seen basketball guys lose up to 50mm".

Some years ago i was back at the town I last lived in Sweden and visited the track where I spent so many hours practicing and saw a guy I didn't at first recognize, it was Thorlief Hansen and he was walking bent at about 40 degrees at the waist and he looked like hell, and I heard Torsten Hallman, the man that introduced America to moto-cross was also utterly fucked from lower back stuff.

I know my old friend and housemate Jim Pomeroy was really in lots of serious daily pain from back injuries when we shared a house in '84 or 85, like 5 years after we both retired and left Europe.

I went from 5'11 3/4ths down to 5'11 1/2 after having a couple of discs removed out of my back in my early 20's. Wasn't from riding bikes though. I can still say I'm "almost 6ft"
