Up in da nord, last Sunday was beeeaauuuttiiiffull (like, above 0'C), so even I did something...

Down here in AZ it was about 65-70 during the day. Did I work on the Galant or the EVO ?? Hell no, on Sunday I was at Barrett-Jackson it was pathetic, and on Monday I finished remodeling the bathroom.

Hey Skye- Here's a thought, if you ever need to replace the stock indicators in the front bumper, go have a look at early 80's RX-7's front indicators in the J/Y. Take a couple home and compare to stock. They're really damn close. I plan on using then as the J/Y 's are littered with RX-7's over here. I'll either keep the stockers for replacement or sell them. Probably keep them.

There originally wern't supposed to be any, but now the rules now say there has to be an X in there, not in the diagonals. Though I suppose a couple of tubes could run down to beam pickup points if we were going for even more excess...

Is that for Canada, the "x" thing? I can't keep up with the rules stuff. I was thinking of running in Canada. It's as close to me as the West side of Washington state.

As I sit behind my desk looking out the window and watching the construction workers install a mold to pour concrete in, the idea hits me !

Let's use the concete workers mold making and framing and rebar tying technique for rollcages. They have fancy joints and couplers and whatnot. We can show up at the tech and if they say the cage is no good, we can modify, replace bars, add Xs Ys Zs Ws whatever the hell they want kinda like building blocks.

I am a genious, I should seek employment at RA.

We spent a couple of hours poking around at the junkyard in Auburn yesterday. Got a nice clean starter from a Thunderchicken for a few bucks, wastegate soleniod, starter relays, and some hoses out of a Ford F150 which appear to be 2.25" just the right size for plumbing the cossie intercooler. Ossum...

Priorities:

#1 Engine starts, runs
#2 Brakes
#3 Street Legal
#4 Log book mods

We dropped off all the shit for the GpA square rear beams last night, plus a rotated intake for me to get welded, a bunch of trans and oil coolers to have new fittings welded on. Need to look at the fuel rails again and figure out how to get -6 fittings on them and the cossie FPR.

Yes, CARS is aligning itself with the FIA for cars with 2007 logbooks, which means the mandatory diagonal member(s) must be in the main hoop. No real worry if you have a US logbook however, they take both NASA and RA at face value here....(though if you don't hurry, you'll be cutting out that 1.75" main for a 5" or whatever one...)

With all the new rules governing roll cages, fuel cells, newbies not being allowed turbos, I've been thinking of changing the perpetual project from an XRatty to something a little smaller, lighter and more economical. I think I'll also stick with the stock tank. Here's what I'm thinking:

Paddy I just noticed that in your rear X bars there are the fatal "gussets on tube centerline" which are shown to lead to tube failures at the end of the gussets.
Get thoise out of the X and get some formed "taco' style things in there.
Goddammit.
Take a piece of 1/8 or 3mm plate and place in in the crook of the forearm and bicep and pull back hard.....
