I tried this, but I just kept snapping the plate in 2, perhaps I'm just too huge and should try making them out of 1/4" steel instead? But then I'm worried about the weight penalty....

...can't I just sneer at near certain death and not change anything? I'm certain I'll simply burn the thing to the ground with a fuel cell in the cabin on a transit before I flip it on my first stage.
