WRC 2006 footage
June 08, 2006 12:51PM
So for those poor souls who miss out on the WRC 2006 footage, I'm making a 2 disc set with the first 8 events on it. If you want one, PM me. I'm thinking a $5 contribution to my Paypal account to help cover shipping, packaging, and DVD+R discs would be cool. PM me if you want one and I'll give you my Paypal address and get your address to send it to. Each event has a preview and 3 days of rally, all with no commercials. About 90 minutes+ per event.

Oh, and this isn't something I'm doing for a profit or for just anyone. Just putting it together for a Todd Moberly and Jason Waples and thought I'd offer it up to others as well. What I should do is put it on NASIOC for like $15 per set and try to make some money. Hmmmm....

Hey we have rules here Brian,
No "sir", it smacks of "decorum".
Next thing you know you might even use the word "propriety" with a straight face.

I know Grant, and he's no "sir".

And if 'fur' is fur and 'her' is her, is "cur" 'sir'?

Is that last part in Canadiastanian? I'm still working on cojugation of "eh?"

Very cool to see that "drinking beer in the garage after pulling an engine" conversation is still educated enough to know when and how to use "smacks." Don't see that very often. Smacks FTW.

I'll try to be less erudite in the future.

PS - Grant, where do I send the moe-knee?

Funny thing was when I first saw sir stated in the PM I immediately thought of the Nigerian scammers. Though I must admit that I do often get treated like a very important person. Met some big wigs from DC yesterday and here I was, hung over, an hour and a half late, and wearing yellow plaid Penguin pants and a shrunk sweater. The head director was not thrilled. The gov guys on the other hand didn't care when they saw some of the products I've developed for the program and how easy and useful they are. One even got the Office Space reference drawing on the wall.

So, here's what I have so far on my mailing list. John Lane, Moose, Brian D, Martin W, and Adam Crane. If I missed you send me a PM and make sure to include your address.

The video producing keeps crashing. I start at 7 am when I get to work and with 4 shows on one disc it's at around 80% when I leave and never done when I get back. With 3 it's 93% and the first three episodes finished but the second three has crashed four times now. I think I'm going to start over and do two events per disc. Once I get the initial done it only takes about 20-30 minutes for future discs. So there's been a bit of a set back due to stupid network issues. I need my burner today so I guess I'll start over tomorrow.

Thanks for the update, Grant. Looking forward to spending a weekend indoors watching rally instead of dying in the heat doing lame things like running errands.

Phoenix this time of year = (imagine one of those silly smily things that do stuff like beat people and poke at them and stuff. But this one has a graphic of a gun being pulled out and used to shoot myself in the head. Well insert that here.)

I used to go to Phoenix for skateboarding every six months. The January trip was awesome as we escaped the winter wasteland of Wyoming and indoor skateboarding in abandoned warehouses (or for one winter in my rented airport hangar), but the trip in July almost always ended up being mostly drinking and a little bit of skateboarding. We joked once about leaving our shirts in Flagstaff. One summer we didn't even bother with Phoenix and just stayed in Flag instead.

Dude. It's supposed to be 112* here on Saturday. I'm planning on sleeping in Saturday morning, lounging on the couch all day, taking a nap, and not starting to work on the Galant until around 8pm. This sucks.

On a funnier note, I asked some of the guys on DSMtuners who live in Denver what they think about the area, after speaking with a couple buddies of mine who live up there and some guy linked me to NoCoast. :thumbsup

I might be flying out for a weekend later on this summer... say, October.
