Funny, I once thought about a rally Foxbody. But not the 302, an 1985.5 SVO....as long as that fuel system is replaced so it doesn't become a rally fireball.

On the subject of rallying mustangs....

The SVO is the XR4Ti's fat American cousin... winking smiley

Hahaha I love 'em both nonetheless. However I would be thoroughly surprised if I ever heard of an xr4ti existing in Texas sad smiley

Hi Taylor, glad to see you made it here.
There are a small number of Xratties in Texas, there's some in Okie-doma, in Kan's ass, even in Ark kan's ass, a bunch in Colorado which is just like a suburb to DFW, they're around and one huge advantage is that for a car that works so well, the re-sale value is zilch. I've been given maybe 12-15 and I've located for prospective rally-pervs a dozen or so for $100-200.
Hell my last 2 daily drivers were freebies which both together took under an hor total for the two to get 'em going and drive them for 3-6 years.
But whatever, you have the 240, you probably know where derelict ones are and what junk yard has what, that's a crucial thing if you're gonna play hard, cuase if you're gonna play hard, you're gonna need parts.

Working on the photos you're 'spossed to be taking?

newb here,

i like the level of support here for mustang rallying. i have a '74 mustang II (not yet alive) that i would like to rally. similar to the fox in size and weight only cooler looking. it's just a roller right now but probably going with a 302. i just wanted to rally something a little unique (can't find another II rally car) and challenging to handle.

probably will just begin with some rallyx and move up from there as time/money allows. although the rallyx program in st. louis is not so healthy right now. events are few and far between.

Dang well if I ever see a xrattie round here then I'll know to jump on it...for one reason or another. And oh damn, almost forgot 'bout the pics. Got wrapped up in the forum and today was asofakingbusyday. I will do my best to take them tomorrow.

Seems like Mike was running a 15" truck tire rather than a rally tire. I'll ask him.

Anyone know any details about this foxbody driven by MJ in this pic?

No.. not a stage rally car...but seemed to do pretty good at GRC..maybe a case of
driver over car?

the fox farmont would be a good choice the rear control arms a bit longer than the fox mustang , this lets the suspension work a bit better. other than that its a fox chassis
i would like to have one for a driver

i spoke with mark about the tires on his mustang, he informed me he ran 225/70-15
i would have thought a 205/75-15

bigger tyres work wonders in the desert for sure
but on the gravel, yikes!
