Paddy, chop out those little useless triangles in the juctions of the doorbars, they accoplish ZERO and make some proper gussests.

And who came up with the front entire half???
Bizarre, indeed. I guess nobody cars if the whole corner crushes in in a simple roll which in a more tradition, less fuckin creative design, would have nice support to the whole length of the A pillar and on to the main hoop.

And just what the fuck is so hard to grasp about copying the rear stay, X, etc junction the way Ford did things.
Are ALL cage builders so fucking stupid, or lazy or what?
Can't any grasp simple principles, or fess up Paddy, did YOU tell them to fucking MISS THE WHOLE FUCKIN POINT???????

Somebody somewhere fails to understand really elementary ideas.
What the fuck.

So I may need to use the hammer and welder a tad? Good heavens! The early drop works with the bent roof bar, supporting it more in the middle rather than relying on the ends to hold it up. If that center bar gets bent in a simple roll, it'll be a much more costly repair than just grafting on a new corner. Should be same effectiveness in a large roll in either case.

The rear was a cost comprimise, as you know it is hard to mitre all those pipes to meet at a small junction area. Shock loads are still transferred through the bolt to the small tower body, then what? It either pushes up on the cage through your top-mount idea, or it must pull the area below it where mine goes in. Provided the mini tower gets plated, I don't envision the shock coming through the top mount in either case.

I was thinking about side exit exhaust as well. Just hit the regular round pipe with the BFH a few times.

Yep, that's what it is, pre-skwished side exhaust. Gets ride of the pesky "where to route the exhaust around the rear beam" problem. However IIRC it's highly illegal on this continent.

You're shitting me! It's illegal? How's that? I need to reread the rules. I missed that. Why would be a great question to ask. I've been drinking, Correction still drinking.

Maybe not in the SCCA/FIA rules, but I'm pretty sure its illegal as in not street legal.

Muchachito mio,
the (wipes the gushed goo off) praise is cause it "looks cool" and look sumpin like what they have seen in the factory Sub-a-rats, (damn, has to wipe more gushed goo off the keyboard!), and I guess the whole fuckin corner with no cage nearby is like uber-cool.
Of corse Pro-drive re-shells often enough even if they don"t roll on that corner, bit more a problem if you"re Team P0-drive

If memory serves me correctly... didn't the first couple of years of the Dodge Viper have a side exhaust for the North American model ?

It was the European model that originally had rear exhaust because side exhaust was illegal on the other side of the pond.

BTW... Skye, Great Forum !

It's nice to be able to say "Fuck Yeah" without seeing "**** Yeah"

Cheers,

Morten

Ah well, I'm sure it'll hold up just fine and I like the way it smells. Cage will probably be obsolete by my 1st event in 2007 anyways, by which point in time required members will likely include provisions for enclosing the fuel cell, fuel lines, co-driver...

Paddy,

Christian is not gonna like your sarcasm and give you a warning.

Oh wait he can't do it here.

However you are forgetting something important. By the time you runa the first rally in your car, more than likely they will ban metal rollcages that may corrode and tell us that we have to use Stupidium Tubing that will not only go around the fuelcell, codriver, the toilet seat at home and the intercom, they way well try to make it all together illegal to participate in a rally with a car.

Cheers

I'm shocked that they do not REQUIRE that we carry TWO rolls of toilet paper for when we REALLY have to go.

Next we will have to have airbags......Multiple airbags so that when you hit one inflates and with each following impact you are cushioned by another silk pillow IN THE NAME OF SAFETY!! After all..... we are DOING IT FOR THE CHILDREN.

Give me a break.
