Did some reasarch. Build an HSR rep with proper Group 4 parts (e.g. 4 link, turrets, etc.) with a nice 2.2 Ecotec. You should be able to pick up the chassis pretty cheap smiling smiley Drivetrain is different, but rear axle, body/chassis, and stock supsension mounting points are not from what I can tell.

We had one of them in our driveway for a few months back in the day.

Some Irish guy came over to run the 1981 Reno International Rally with the car and we stored it for him so he could run the Rally Week Northwest Events later in the year, or more to the point the next year as Reno was in Dec and RWNW was in June or so.

In the end he decided to import it back to IRL.

Dry Sump, twin cam, and rather trick deal. I do not remember much more as I was 11 at the time.

I remember the Ferrari 275 we stored a lot better...

Nice quick clip in 2006:

And here's a classic - Cork Int'l from 1983 - all Escorts and Chevettes:

Make a nice group 5 car with the Buick aluminum V8 which has been stretched to 4.9l in the recent Land & Range Rovers, plenty of manual transmission options available as well.

The HSR is a gorgeous looking wee rally beast.

Cheers, Ted

I remember the first time I saw a picture of one of those chevettes with the droop snoot and thinking it was pretty fucking bad ass... for a chevette.. they are basically all gone here though, just a little less rare than an isuzu bellett or a volvo 142 really. No doubt it could be made into a fairly competitive car though. Small and light

There are three pizza joints here in Windsor that maintain fleets of them still -- I think rust and driveclean are slowly killing them off but they're still around.

I've got an uncle who's a car dealer in Alberta, if I get the urge after the Mini is finished I may have him keep an eye out for a rust-free one at the auctions.

Cheers, Ted
