I was given a contact for used tires, and they actually asked me 'what size?'!
I'm not used to being given options when looking for the cheapest stuff I can find...
Naturally, I was a little stumped.

I used This thread to take a guess at my base size, Seeing how those spokey volvo wheels are the ones I'm going to be using.

Oh okie dokie.. But remember those Commodah dudes are using Volvo axle and fronts spindles and hubs cause they're a big step up in size from the spindly ass weak OEM Corolla junk, and cheap, and common as pooo out here, but its justa weee 1600.
Still that size would be good on a low powah 240.

Rememeber tire overall diameter has a direct effect on effective final drive ratio... taller gears you UP and that's the wrong way.

My favorite tires for a Volvo is cinder blocks. Seems most common too.

Now for a serious answer. First, use 15" wheels because that is most common size for rally tires. As far as the tires size, whatever the common size that all the Subarus use since that's your most common source for takeoffs. 195/65-15 or 205/65-15 or whatever it is. That's a good size for a Volvo.

This is making some sense.

Seeing how I have some bare volvo wheels in 14, and the car has stock gearing at the moment, I'll see if he has some in that form for now.

But in the future, I'll aim for whats common, especially as I get the gearing right.

I've used 14/62-15 on my Volvo when it was naturally aspirated with a welded rear.

With soft compound a pair of rear tires were to canvas after two stages.

Using medium a pair would last longer....

Once it got the turbo (an why would anyone want to play in rally without one?) 17/65-15 AKA the BIG take-offs from the Subarus has always been my choice. They even last longer than expected.

Using BIG brakes on your Volvo find the 15" wheel Volvo calls 'Sirius' as it gives enough clearance, can be had for next to nothing and is plenty tough enough.

This is how I'm set up at the moment. Avoid the softs, got it.

Good to know on the Sirius wheels. Will keep an eye out for them in the future.
