The last East-West straight has a bunch of crests, and at least everything else has some little wiggles to it, but still...

At what point do you say "we're just tacking 1-2 mile near-straights on the end of this stage just for the mileage"?

I sure as hell would rather have a ~10 mile stage that's awesome the entire time, than a ~15 mile stage where the last 1/3rd of it is just flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-flat-BREAK!!!!!-turn-flat-flat-flat-etc...

(Tried to find the pic of the guys ruining that car (DSM? GC?) over the jump at one of the SW events from the last year and couldn't, but that's all I can think of for the last couple miles of this proposed stage.)

I know a few organizers who chase mileage just to make things longer. I dislike the practice and it will often result in my not returning to the event.

Not that I'm aware of.

[I _was_ working on trying to organize event(s) here. The twins (and I'm not talking about the Subaru/Toyota kind) that are coming this summer made me choose to put that on the back burner for a few years.]

(If it comes back to Jean once I have my car together, I'm tempted to offer to pay the proportion of the entry fee that corresponds to the mileage covered by the one not-bad stage, which is all I'd want to run.)

Twins Aaron! Awesome and congrats! Nature's two for one!

Everyone in Colorado really wants to support this event as it's only like 550 miles away instead of 800+. Though I say if you're only going to do one, do Idaho.
I'll be at Utah in some capacity, likely working service for any friends that go.

Schedules are made far in advance of sanctioning agreement. It could still be worked out I suspect but there are issues.
