Actually it's not hard to make more money than someone who is unemployed.
Seriously about GPA requirements? I had a 3.8 overall, 4.0 science in undergrad. Maybe I should take that year of chemistry and physics and take the MCAT.

College degrees are worthless when anyone can get one. I can't wait to teach just so I can fail people that deserve to fail. I get contacted at the beginning of almost every semester asking if I'm available yet.

The pre reqs are one year of gen chem with lab, 1 yr O chem, with lab, 1 yr bio w/ lab, 1 yr physics w/ lab, semester of calc, semester of statistics, and for most schools, sem of 101 english, lol.

But the other pre reqs very from school to school... the math isnt required by ALL of them. And some require biochem, or some other higher level classes

Personally I think people should pay their bills - they spent the money had the fun and such... a little will power is all it takes to live on cash no need to go bankrupt.

And I am never more amazed when I see folks posting up the intimate details of their personal financial or legal issues on the internet -- not all bankruptcy trustees, judges or creditors are tards who don't know how to use the google smiling smiley

It would really suck to show up at a hearing with all of your internet posts printed out nicely for the judge to peruse...

t

p.s. Timm, even if you get to be a doctor, John will never let you see him naked winking smiley

Oh oh. "tards"? You used a contraction of the "R word".
Holy crap. You're screwed now.

If you ever need to deal with a social worker for any reason
and they "google" that you used a contraction of "retard"
they'll probably find some way to have you arrested and shot.

LOL

As I was typing that e-mail my ten year old son was sitting at the picnic table in the backyard about 50 feet from here with a social worker discussing his upcoming visit to a "child's advocate" where he has to sign the paperwork giving his permission to finalize his adoption.

I kid you not, you clairvoyant Danish bastard smiling smiley

t

P.S. in case the smiley didn't take enough of the edge off, Andkilde is Danish as well -- though they are the crazy(er) side of my family...

A day late and a dollar short (seems appropriate here)...

I filed Chapter 7 the week before I moved to Phoenix. I was still making payments to the credit union for my Talon at the time and just had to sign a document saying I would continue to make my scheduled payments with them. Considering I was shafting the other bozos, the credit union was very generous in renegotiating my loan terms to be friendlier.

I got credit card offers in the mail within a month. They know that, once you file, you can't file for seven more years, so they know they've got you by the short and curlies if you pull the trigger on their offers.

My bullshit credit score dropped to about 550 instantly, but I've been living on a cash, very minimal credit basis since then and now have an over 700 score. The only debt I have right now is $80K in useless student loan debt. There's no getting around Sallie Mae. That bitch makes Capone and Gotti look like girl scouts.

My biggest beef? If a company can report you to the bureaus for late or non-payment, then they should be required by law to report the payments you DO make. Pretty fucking stupid that my mortgage will be questioned over a $50 cable bill five years ago, but the other eight years of on-time payments to them don't matter...

Good luck, Grant. Fuck the bozos. Pay cash and prosper. They'll get a bailout. You won't.

^^ yeah, the only thing I really regret is NOT filing bankruptcy before they changed the rules on that.

I remember when I was a little kid and they ask that "What do you want to be when you grow up." I gave a few answers... Race car driver and Engineer. I think I threw in a weather man in there too. Then I figured the pro race car driver isn't really a large job market and I didn't start driving when I was 6 in go karts. Then I found weather men are just tv journalists. However, being a weather man would still be fun. It's one of the only professions where you can be wrong all the time and still get paid.

Doctor?!

You want to save some lives? become a PLUMBER. Without sewer pipes we would all be dying left and right from terrible diseases. Its the single greatest achievement of mankind. If you want to be a patriotic American and a self-actualized citizen of the future, apprentice with a good old plumber.

Is it really amazing that someone who loaned you money is calling you to try and get it back?

You're a smart guy, I can't understand why you're surprised.

No, the amazing thing is that they're not calling me, a machine is.
The few times a real person was on the other end, I've happily spoken with them and told them why I couldn't make my payments last month or this month. It only took 9 days out of work for me to fall two months behind. Until I got paid today, I had $3 in my account and have been eating peanut butter sandwiches all week. It'll still be a few weeks before I can actually afford the filing fee. Just got caught up on my student loan, energy, water, cell phone, insurance, and cable bill this morning.
