i still need to save up some money, go back to college, and basically get my life in order. i figure that will take me a good 6-12 months.

The desire to race for me was so strong that I doubled up the last year of high-school, and worked to save money, and emigrated to Sweden before I was 18. Moved across the world. (And 2 1/2 months later some drunk smashed into the back of my car, and they cops, clearly enjoying themselves took my car, so 1st trip down the drain.)

Went back for a full season when I was 19 (this time with about 1/2 years wages saved figuring if I lived cheap, I could live till I found work. By September the priority was: Gas for the bike, lunch most days, if i needed to drain bike gas for the car. Dinners was often : Open a book of cooking and look at the pictures. Lost a lot of weight, but was strong.)

What do you want to do? How badly you want to?

What is out of order in your life?

(this is the most important question in your life) What do you really want to do to pay the rent? And what do you really want to do?

honestly, until i found rally, wanting to become a mechanical/electrical engineer was my main driving force in life. but when i found out about rally a couple years ago, it ignited a passion 100 times greater than anything i have ever dreamed of... what i want to do is RALLY. and as great as it sounds at first thought, im guessing that dropping everything else and trying to put together a rally car while living in a tent and isolating myself from all my non rally friends and family would not be the best idea. rite now my main focus is getting back to school. the only problem is i have no money, and the government wont give me financial aid because my dad is rich by their standards and my mom lives in mexico. they also insist that i must claim my father as a dependent... rite now i think my best option is to join the military either as active duty or reserves, and have them pay for college. but while i wait to be fully accepted ill be working construction and saving most of my money for a rally car. not the best idea? maybe. but i feel that it would give me extra motivation to reach my goals.

fiasco

Oh, and having a mortgage, kids and a car payment are sure ways to never get around to building a rally car...which is why I just sit around and clicky clack on the keyboard and make sarcastic remarks that may actually be kind of funny a few percent of the time!

Welcome!

That makes me want to avoid all 3 like the plaque ... my GF keeps bugging me for a wedding ring though, and a house and kids. *sigh*

Maybe i'll drop back down to a production class fwd Impreza when all that happens... lame ...

wedding rings, blah, tell her to buy her own wedding ring and if she wants a house she can buy a house, I bought my own house (and really, wedding rings aren't fancy and don't cost that much, it's the sillyness of the "engagement" ring, aka I'm paying for your last name ring, lol)

kids though, well, that's sort of different I suppose

If you buy a house with enough property and non snooty neighbors you can rally around the house

This thread just reminded me of the theme song from Oregon Trail 2009.
