I especially like the part about the employees being convinced they work at a real store, haha.

LoL. probably that's the best way to get your employees to fake it. lie to them so they aren't faking. then when you bail you don't pay them and save the cash for 2 weeks pay ...

wonder if these stores go bye bye when the first employee paychecks are due?

Well, it was probably a "legitimate" business, just not a real apple store. So, everything MAY have been correct, store wise.... they just put on a ruse and sold fake products.

Good. I wish nothing but destruction for Apple and it's efforts to control the world. Funny how everyone cared so much about Microsofts anti-competitive practices which are kinda tame looking compared to Apple. You will never see me owning any Apple product knowingly.
I like how a quick check of the blog name will easily reveal the 'anonymous' person who revealed this. Some liberal left wing chick condemning capitalism and the inhumanities of the world as she cruises around the world living off her Daddy's trust fund more than likely. Money that was probably made by exploiting American workers and later in order to maximize profits shipping our jobs off to India and China.

Yeah, Apple is quite a cult. I do like their computers though (itunes and EVERYTHING else can go die, though).

I just mainly thought the Chinese FAKE store was the impressive/sad thing. Not so much that it happened to Apple. (Or Crapple, if you prefer winking smiley )

Ahhh. smiling smiley

That segment is even funnier if one remembers the more-than-25-year-old Apple commercial:

I can only imagine how high the percentage is that the joke was lost on during broadcast, which makes me, naturally, wonder what else I'm missing.

Yep, the simpsons is pretty much all snarky references.

My favorite creative crime in China story was a few years ago, a crew of baddies shows up with guns, set up a perimeter, bring in the giant crane and the cutting torches then disapear into the night with an ESCALATOR form the new subway station!

Link? What was the crime? Stealing the escalator?

Found it.
Guardian, December 06, 2004.
Google search for escalator theft with crane subway china and it is the fourth in the list. Funny.
