Am I the only one or should we have more of these cars over here. I miss the sound of BDAs in the forests...

No you are not.

Whoever decided that this

should share the same name with this

should be exiled to a small empty frozen island.

Yeah..I was just fapping to the video in this thread yesterday :

http://www.rallyanarchy.com/phorum/read.php?1,100555

I don't even care that it's tarmac...I'll watch well prepped, well driven Mk1's and 2's all day on video...tarmac or gravel.

Some of it's the "I can't have it" factor-I'm sure..but it's not all that.

The cars just seem so... small...simple....quick.....sorted...just fun!
And of course the sound....they do look like a handfull at times though.

I've never laid eye's on one for real that I can recall..although I know there are several in the states.

So after looking at that video yesterday,I thought wouldn't it be nice if somebody made repro shells and body parts for these-as I see John posting how its getting hard to find good shells.

So I googled and found some overseas forum threads about how some guys are/were attempting to do just that ..maybe..for their overseas projects.

Anyway.. how awesone would it be if someone was importing these shells into the states..and you could build one..
maybe as a kit(or not).
Since we are not awash in bda's -drop a duratec in there,or if you are a gm fan maybe Ecotec, or a Honda Guy a Honda engine....
Dead simple harness...I don't know what for a rear axle..I'm sure John could help with the suspenders..

A(somewhat) American built REAL Escort...

Then I realized I was wasting time on pipe dreams..and thought...well, although it's only "turbo pinto" powered here-we DO HAVE the XR4ti version of the Sierra(I've owned two), and what John Call's "a bigger Escort"-the Volvo 240.
And he's posted here on rallyanarchy some seriously quick 240 videos.

But I alway's think those little Escorts should destroy those bigger cars..so I youtube'd some Ford Cosworth Sierra..and boy do they look long compared to the Escorts..but they are fast.

So this is just internet fapping..Clearly the the below cars are not prepared equally-but if they were-what's the better car on tarmac,
and the better car on gravel?

MkI/Mk2 Escort

2wd Cosworth Sierra

Volvo 240

That jumping Mk2 looks like it is at the UK MOD Longcross test ground, it is a 30 or 40 deg slope on to a large concrete area they test tanks and the such there. We used to have a number of stage rallies there in the 80s and 90s not sure if they still do.

Yes, it's a Ranger.
Xr4Ti, it is rwd and was made in Germany.

Yeah Porsche 911...Great tarmac car. Routinely annihilated on gravel by mommymobile Escorts, Fiats and Opels and even lowly FWD Saabs with 2/3 the engine the Porsches had.. No substitute...for pointlessness.

Your mom drove a Mk2 escort-or a Sierra Cosworth?
Damn-that's awesome!

Re: RAC Rally

But seriously there is something to be said for racing a car that's actually meant to be raced.

I like when I see 911's at stage rally and rallyx events as i don't see that many around here.

I also like Paul's build here on the anarchy of his 911 rallyx/autox car-I'd rock that car in a heartbeat!

But..... there is also something to be said for taking a grocery getter and building(or just driving it) it to own said cars.

I know I seriously enjoy beating 911's(and other Porsche's) in my nearly stock Focus-paved or dirt!

No senile troll, just sometime we have all been fed up with your stupid jizz dripping off your face love fest with your inglorious glory days dreaming about Porsches and want the OTHER people who haven't seen 20+ years of your moronic spew to know that you opinions are useless.
