Morten do you remember the exchange that went on with 'Joe Isuzu' on Special Stage.com before it was referred to as SS Dot-com. That was Hillarious and what I'm referring to.

Re: Tourette Boy

it was a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong exchange with some guy who has bought up piles of Isuzu parts and a kid in Utah who got a Isuzu from a friend and wondered if it was worthwhile to build it.
the guy who was the'dealer' come on and claimed Isuzu were, no jokes now, the greatest thing in the world and "where everIsuzus have competed, they have dominated" and posted links when questioned about the absurdity of that statement to events in, seriously now, NW Territories of OZ to an event with 27 cars and the Isuzu was 26th, or Lesotho where the car was near last again etc etc.
This prompted dubbing the guy "Joe Isuzu" to which he responded by calling anybody who disagreed "The 3 stooges" and incompetent etc.

The kicker was twofold: the kid said he got it for a friend whop owed him $400, and then he said "If this guy Joe Isuzu is the only place to get parts then no way in the world do I want an Isuzu"

He also had an Xratty with a dead automatic so I put him in touch with the "Merkur Boys" in Spokane and I think he got a 5 speed for 45 bucks.

The exchange went on for months and was......Amusing.

'Joe' did at one point threaten legal action (no shit!!) over being referred to as 'Joe Isuzu.'

Anyone have any idea if that thread could be dug up in the aptly named SS.com?

While I did find a few references, didn't find the original. The archives are gone now it appears as well (which is a shame since the Car Construction forum had some great info). Here's an option that I found funny too on SS's search page.

It's not that Isuzus are faster than speeding bullets!

It's that even a bullet can't fix all the problems you get with an Isuzu.

Hell I *used* to own one. Isuzu is/was the AMC of the Japanese market. Every damned piece on the car was either sourced elsewhere, or really badly done (possibly still sourced elsewhere only the designer didn't want to take the blame!

Body: rejected Scirocco design.
Chassis: semi-rejected GM design. (Sort of half-Chevette, half-Kadett, half-POS... so shitty it was less than the sum of its parts)
Drivetrain: just plain a reject!

ODDLY ENOUGH I actually saw one on the road yesterday! I pointed it out to my friends, saying "Look, an Impulse just like the one i had!" One replied "It's not like yours was, this one's mobile."

If I remember correctly Joe 'Found' us by searching the internet looking for 'Isuzu racing' and found that some idiot was actually attempting to race one of the turbo 4X4 Impulse things.

Sure was hillarious pushing his buttons.
