What ever will people do when they can't get millions of viewers/readers by doing comparisons between the Impreza and the Evo. It's like a 12-15 year thing now. Every time I look at the gay car mags at the Barnes and Noble at least one of them seem to be having some kind of showdown.

Another bit of good Top Gear news is that Leno turned down the lead host position, telling NBC that the show will never live up to the standards and excelence of the original. The only way I want Top Gear on stateside is to either bring the original here, or cast me as a host.

There is no way in hell a US vsersion of top gear can be anything but goatblowingly bad, an infomercial for any and all sponsors. As soon as whoever the host is says anything bad about any car, that manufacturer will start pulling ads. Clarkson can go on about how cool an earlier civic SI is, and totally pan the new one, and get away with it. Leno's about the only guy in the US who could host this show and do it right, but unless he has free rein, it'll turn into the mush he so accurately describes.

evo vs sti....they do it all the time because its more fun than watching lambo vs ferrari for the average joe. Why? because normal people can own evo's and sti's.......'super cars' are way out of the normal joe's reach, so sure, more fun to watch from a performance standpoint, but not as fun as a car that's within your price range.


same reason they aways put some Mercedes model X vs BMW model z against each other.
