The 1991 Geo Storm GSI (built by Isuzu) was one of the best vehicles my wife and I have ever owned...it was nearly maintenance free for the ~100k miles we had it...sold it to a family member who totalled it at 120K in a parking lot fender bender. It got great mileage, nevewr needed anything, and the interior was much better (IMO) than Hondas/Toyotas from the same era.

I don't really. I know I don't want to spend more than $5-6K on a truck.

I may buy Steve's truck. 93 Cummins 5 speed, 2WD, extended cab with topper for $4200, since they're looking at some GMC cabover thing that has a flat bed, tool boxes, and seats seven, to tow two cars around with.

But I really waffle at the thought of anything that's not a crew cab and thus not being able to comfortably transport at least four people around the country to rallies.

I really want a crew cab one, though the more I think about it and the lack of out of state events I am realistically going to be able to do in the next two years, I'd probably be fine with a regular cab. Didn't realize they made the NPR in crew cab also. As is the W4500 or whatever Chevy and GMC call them.
Why don't they ever state the gas mileage on any of these things either.

I have a 2001 GMC badged NPR with a 14' stake bed/liftgate as the shop truck and it gets 10mpg with the gas engine. Seems to get the same mileage irregardless of the way it gets driven. We don't put on enough miles per year to justify the premium for the diesel engine. The GVW was also high enough that it came with a non OBD-II engine...iron block and head old style Chevy 350.

Becuase the body that is mounted to it makes a gigantor difference, and Isuzu doesn't mount bodies.

I have a 1992 NPR, it has 18ft box, it gets 15 usaully, 18 if there is no wind.

It has lots of issues though. Been trying to get them all taken care of. It is totally awesome though.

I love cabover diesel trucks almost more than rally cars. I want to get this one fixed up SOLID wheel it for 2 years, then upgrade to an FTR.

My truck

Floor is rusted GONE like, can't put feet down they will hit tire I have to use 2x4's to prop the cab. Will fix that eventually.

Lots of parts are cheap on eBay, Napa can get some parts too, dealer parts freak me out $$$$$. And EFF I can't find a knockoff eBay/Napa radiator anywhere.

It is fun working on 14,000lb trucks in the street. People give you weird looks.

More truck talk!

HA!
I was so into this stuff 30 years ago dude, I was like way ahead of youse!

Here's a version of what I had beck in 1979:
Henschel Hanomag F45 3,5 tonne van:

Even was blue.

You could find box vans if there was some reason the super-coolness of walking thru to the spaciuos and sumptuously outfitted Phallus Palace wasn't wanted.

Careful, boss! Looks like you're down to yer last cold one!

You should put some Honda-centric PSAs on that thing...

Follow me to see a REAL Honda race car.

Altezzas have no place on a race car.

Your body kit makes me look bad.

Matt,
Now that the snuggle cabin is in, add a cooking surface and perhaps a window. Then off to the Sec of State to turn it into a motor home and save $$$$ on plates.
Tags to the rest of y'all.

Would you happen to know where I can find what is exactly required to re-title as a motorhome? I cant find it on the internets, and when I called, the chick was no help.
