Some new car construction ideas from Japanese tuners
November 03, 2008 07:07PM
I probably should have posted this in the construction forum. Meh...

Some interesting things to look at in this thread for tuner cars. I'm thinking some of the exhaust and wing work might transfer to rally very nicely. Looks like they've worked out some practical header routing issues, IMHO.

I think I also found my next service vehicle in this thread:

Bosozoku is the name of that style.
Kinda fun I think, as far as car art goes.

Last year we're cruzin down the freeway and get passed by a mid 90's Accent. Never a camera when you need one, the car had an unpainted wooden hood scoop. I mean flat boards nailed together, not fitted, shaped or glassed. Just part of the neighbors fence fastened to the hood. THEN he had another board raised on 2x4 pedestals on the trunk lid. Inbreds in logging country...

I bet that some of those cars on the front end stay stuck to the ground at speed, I thought you were supposed to tune with a spoiler-diffuser to counteract the effects of a rear wing, not the other way around, but WOW!!!

As to the service vehicle, that makes SUPERVAN look kinda wuss!!

Best I have seen in this cat. would have to be the rubbermaid mailbox cut down the middle for a scoop. Complete with the outgoing mail flag. also had rubber floor mats for ground effects. i hope to god it was for a laugh

Ya, there's a guy up the road with a 1ton Ford dump truck. Has a NA diesel and he has a newspaper box on the hood for a scoop, actually has it ducted into the inlet hose. Trendsetters...yup.
