I love this kind of stuff. Analyze the "track". Analyze the competition. Analyze the rules. Then use your noggin to come up with something that all the copycat racers out there can't even imagine in their dreams.

I like that guy.

Usually genius is associated with thick glasses, test tubes or huge computer banks. Sometimes genius is a guy in his garage making magic out of a bunch of automotive cast-off parts. This guy is genius for sure. I'll bet the protest committee will be swamped next year though.

And we need to give a nod to young Lurch for having the brains, courage, ability and the "can't never leave shit alone" gene that genius comes from.

Very interesting! I used to work on these and they're small and powerful. You see and hear them whistling at tail end of an aeroplane at the airports if the plane's not connected to the airports support system.
The also use them to generate electricity and heat at remote stations in wilderness.

Parades of sameness aren't as fun, in my opinion.

I also liked the Chaparral 2J "Sucker". And the 4wd Indy cars. And Hadjiminas' "VW Fox Kit Car".

I heard Toni Shepherd (Doug's wife) at the LSPR post-rally parc exclaim that she loved the 2wd action because it reminded her of the old days (80's), when you could tell who was coming next by the sound. Doug's car doesn't sound like Mark U's car, doesn't sound like my car, doesn't sound like Josh's, etc.

And none of them sound like Subarus. smiling smiley

Of course, I ran Can-Ams and Huskies while my buddies were on Hondas and Yamahas, too.

The old 2.6 Colts and Arrows had a sound all their own. I really liked the sound of my 5 cyl Audi. It wasn't fast but looked good.
