Most years, we get 4-6" on the ground for a couple days at a time, round here. And I thought this winter was gonna be boring. Guess not. We went to sleep with no snow and woke up to find, among other things, that my costco carport couldn't handle the load and it done collapsed on top o' the rallycar. Other than that, my boy and I think this is fannnnntastic.

We've had over a foot here. Roads are bad, drivers are terrible!
Rear deck Saturday nite. Lots of shoveling needed, Tylenol and rum also. Rare Volvo areo sedan also. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/22/2008 03:32PM by heymagic. |

Here's the aftermath. My neighbor has heavy equipment, dump trucks, road graders etc. He hit the driveway and parking lot Sunday morning. See how big the snow piles are.

It didn't snow over here. Just got FUCKING COLD.
I looked up Colorado Springs yesterday to see how my friend Alex was doing, 'cause if it's 4 degrees over here right next to a big huge warm lake, it had to be about minus a hundred in the middle of nothing and up in elevation. It was something like 16 degrees, at night! That was today's *high*. The neat thing is, roads are still sporadically ice in spots, and it's basically ass-cold reminding me why my family left Michigan decades ago, and a customer of mine drove his Firebird home today. Picture a '68 F-body, entirely in primer, no choke, no manifold heat crossover, no idle, 8" torque converter, welded diff, open air filter element, no heater, no hood, and on 10 year old cheater slicks. And the fucker DROVE IT HOME. "I'll keep it under 50" he says... Pete Remner Cleveland, Ohio 1984 RX-7 (rallycross thing) 1978 Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver. |

We had 8" or so on the ground, then got 11 more on Friday. Saturday just flurries and then 11 more on Sunday. About 6" Sunday night and another 6 or so Monday. Next storm is supposed to start Tuesday (today) for another foot or so.
It's about 4' deep along my driveway. Holland's great. Lake effect! There was a 100 car/truck pileup on I94 in St. Joe, another huge one on I96 in Muskegon, and 131 was a crawl. Amtrack even got stuck. I traded some storage space for a neighbor's boat and travel trailer at my shop for free plowing. Glad I did! I was taking Kirsten on a sled behind the Raptor when it was only a foot or so, but can't get thru it anymore! Winter's here. Lurch Eric Burmeister The west coast...of Michigan |

Then another customer was selling a near perfect 740. So I sold the 740 to this gal and then I sold the 240 to another 'nother customer for her daughter for $1000. I kick myself every now and then. |
