The Chrysler pushrod things before the 'Hemi' were certainly no beacons of light as far as reliability goes. Intake manifolds and gaskets failing, causing BIG vacuum leaks that are a PITA to fix....... Oil leaks that are just part and parcel....
GM and the myriad problems....Transmissions (Allison excepted) that live 30,000 miles. Fuel pumps that fail every other year.... Engines with little issues such as porosity in the block casting. *Gulp!!
Meanwhile my Brides' '98 Landcruiser and it's V-8 have had fluid changes, rear brake pads, and is on it's third set of tires with 140,000 miles. Oh.....I had to replace the light bulb for the ashtray too.
