One more important thing to mention is the correct pronunciation of the word sauna.

Im new here so hi to all the members , but maybe I can give a few hints with this.
First, there is 2 things to keep in mind if want a good sauna, dont build too small one, and the ventilation should be good aswell.
The floorsize not smaller than 2mx3m and the hight around 2m 30cm (minimum).
About the ventilation, the incoming air valve should be positioned near the stove, a normal 120mm dont know what its called there but here it is "platevalve (lautasventtiili)", and the outgoing air valve in the oppsite corner near the celing or in the celing, same size as for the incomming air.
Also like someone already mentioned, wood stove gives better, kind of softer heat than electic ones.
Good luck, and hyvia loylyja as we use to say.

Deck deconstruction has occurred. Post holes will be placed next weekend and then the floor of the sauna and the deck around it will be built. Hope to have walls and roof done by end of November. Everything but interior finnish work by December and useable sauna by end of January.
It's going to be 8 ft wide by 10 ft long. 4X8 front room will act as an outdoor buffer, wood storage, and changing room. 6X8 will be stove room. Goal was to have it so two people could lay lengthwise on the upper bench. Height in room will be 7 ft. Wood fired for sure!

I was a little surprised that everyone was mispronouncing Suomi in Houghton. Everyone was saying Soo-me. Correct is Soo-aw-me. I didn't hear one person pronounce it correctly.
I mispronounce sauna all the time and AJ Hakala is like, "your building what? What is it again? Oh, do you mean a sauna because you were saying some weird word."
