Saw this on the weather channel tonight, apparently Oregon rates the 4th least likely to have a tornado in the whole country.

...but when commenting about it, the weather channel anchor mentions just that the tornado hit a trailer park.

I guess it is not THAT uncommon. Weather channel said Oregon on average gets 3-4 per year. Washington gets 1.

I remember a wind storm in Portland that just kicked everyones asses, shut the city down for 2 days.

I remember about 3 years or so ago when the big wind storm hit the Washington coast with winds up to 114mph and all the news could talk about was how some place in the east that got 80 mph winds. They really just gloss over a bunch of stuff.

And here in Denver, we have yet to have a snow storm, despite having one of the best early ski seasons in the past ten years. Denver, no snow yet. 90 miles away in Vail they've had almost 15 feet of snow. I wore t-shirt and shorts the weekend before last. I have yet to wear a coat to work.
