http://news.yahoo.com/judge-dismisses-charges-against-muslim-man-attacked-atheist-204051912.html

So basically, the Judge, being Muslim, used his own belief structure and the ideas behind Shariah Law to throw out the assault charge. There is no reason for this judge to remain in his position.

I don't see that at all from reading the article. Other than the police officers belief that the judge did. I don't even see anything saying the judge is Muslim. There are much better things to be irritated about. Like Virginia forcing women to have vaginal ultrasounds. Or California. Yeah, the whole state.

Alex, I agree with you.

Since when is Muslim law allowed as a defense in a US court?

The judge is an idiot!

See (31.25) for his ruling.

other articles described the Judge to be a convert, but this paragraph of the judge's statement alone, regardless of his background, shows an enforcement of foreign law in the states.

Quote

“Having had the benefit of having spent over 2 and a half years in predominantly Muslim countries I think I know a little bit about the faith of Islam,” Martin said. “In fact I have a copy of the Koran here and I challenge you sir to show me where it says in the Koran that Mohammad arose and walked among the dead. I think you misinterpreted things. Before you start mocking someone else’s religion you may want to find out a little bit more about it. It makes you look like a doofus… In many Arabic speaking countries something like this is definitely against the law there. In their society in fact it can be punishable by death and it frequently is in their society.”

But, i agree there are plenty of other problems arising in the country too. People want a small government, but they also want the government to handle every gripe and complaint.

Oh I dunno, I think it is perfectly reasonabe to be irritated by a sitting US judge who thinks it is OK for muslims to attack whoever offends them and insults the victim therof. Maybe that judge wants to live where you can be "put to death" for insulting something. Not me. Bring that shit to my home at your peril

That does Irritate me a lot. That judge needs to be removed. Grant its bad judges like that one, is the reason why Virginia is forcing women to have vaginal ultrasounds.

someone comes in with a reasonable law suit to stop it. and some idiot judge throws it out due to "his own beliefs" rather than looking at our constitution and laws of the land.
