I've been sort of musing about the Ecotec lately.

The LNF, specifically. 2.0L, direct injection turbo, 260 horses, 260 foot-lebs, 250 pounds, 20x20x25 inches.

nice and stout bottom end....

Since they're 'Merikun, they should start to be easily obtainable in junkyards in the Rustbelt soon, as opposed to all those furrin cars. I think the Ford EcoBoost will be awesome too, but it's not really jy material yet. MZR/Duratec might be nice too...

Hmmmmmmm...

Same Redblock i paid $50 as a core.
Same 16v head I have 3-5 of laying around...
Same steel crank with bigger rod and mains than a Small Block Chevy

I have on my desk the dyno sheet for a loonie Swede bought my pistons and rods and did a season of drag racing...A million runs, ran like a clock...
663 bhp.
Garage built...

Anybody can afford the Volvo stuffs.

Who knows what a GM Eco-boost core motor would cost?

Super Duty version of the 2.5l pushrod engine. It's about as related to the 2.5 "Iron Duke" as an SB2.2 is related to a 283.

I recall a 3-liter "Fiero" (tube chassis, front engine) running something like high 8s at Norwalk about ten years ago. Naturally aspirated.
