Spell check--why is it not woikin' ?
March 01, 2013 08:10PM
I'm not a fawkin pansy typist, I'm a gawddam manly machinist so I mistype occasionally and I've noticed the "auto-spell-check" ain't underlining words that it thinks are wrong.
What's wrong?

It gave up on you, probably committed suicide.

Have you checked your recycle-bin for it's limp, lifeless body?

confused smiley I'm genuinely stumped here. confused smiley

if it's firefox (hey, it's orange. no vultures, but...):
Go to
Edit->Preferences
Click on the "Advanced" (gear) icon - far right
Make sure that "Check my spelling as I type" (on the 'General' tab, under the Browsing heading) is checked.

If it's checked and it's still not working, I'll have to do a little research to see why that might be.

If you're not actually using firefox, I'll need better clues. smoking smiley

It's Firefox.
Under Edit up ^ there next to File? That Edit'd dropdown has no "preferences".

How about:

from the menus:
Firefox > Preferences

click on 'advanced' tab/icon
click on 'general' tab/icon

Look for 'check my spelling as I type' and make sure the box is checked

If that doesn't work - control click in a multi-line field (like the reply box on this forum) and make sure the correct language is chosen (Vanlandinglish?)

Dammit John, you broke the internet. I hope you're happy. Now we're all going to die. Thanks a lot. angry smiley

Why do you even need brakes? Are you some sort of pansy or something?

The internet is saved. Hooray for all.

It's not too bad. I have dialysis once a week and I feel good as new.
