Honda Ruckus. $1700 brand new. No insurance or license plates required. I park on the sidewalk outside my office. No parking costs. It's a bit cold at 6:30 am on my way in to work but I just wear all my snowboard gear and it's only 2 miles and there's always hot coffee waiting.

Way back in my misspent early 30s I had to babysit and try and make run" an Sears Allstate thing like this:

well once I removed the 45 lbs plugged up "muffler" and adapted a YZ80 thing with a big muffler the thing would do 2nd gear wheelies and top 70.
Used to use it when going on late night "shroom hunting " expeditions witht he sweetie pie on the back. Lost all of our clothes one cloudy night but we survived and when there was a break in the clouds and the full moon shone, we found them AND the scooter thang.
Af few years later I was doing all these rallies in Capitol Forest and invariably we'd transit by the scene of the naked shroom hunt/love fest. Aaaah youth....

Mine's a 4 stroke 50 cc with 2 horse and 35 mph top speed with an auto (variator really). There's a place that sells some stuff that give it a little more umph, but not much. Though it does have 130/90 10s though so curbs and curb cuts make for fun. My best story was drag racing another one while drunk as piss on the 16th Street pedestrian mall in downtown Denver this fall. Go park in front of the bar, hop over, drink a few more beers and more tequila, hop the fence and try a few wheelies. One of the funnest times on it was in -13 degree weather with about 3 inches of snow on the ground. I got some funny looks that week. Oh, and it's got a bunch of racing stickers of course.

Ah wuz going to say "the half who just push paper instead of spinning wrenches drive the Audis" but you just may have said it for me.

I don't know any dealer techs who actually drive the make they work on every day. When you're working on fifteen bazillion A4s or whatever day in day out, you don't look forward to driving one home. The managers and such don't have this particular problem....

(I love the ciggie-straw idea! I like it so much I'll have to steal it)

Reminds me of my 1st bike!
Ahh yes - the beauty of no power, crap handling, crapper brakes!
A wonderful Yamaha FS1E - aka known as a Fizzy!
Basically a Moped - but definitely lethal. I got 49mph out of 49cc 2-stroke single (downhill with a tailwind). But when you don't have the power to pull away from the pricks in cars that race up behind you, then give you about 2 inches of clearance when passing you, it really sucks.
And riding to college in those wonderful North Yorkshire winters, with chapped cheeks, numb fingers and freezing feet - oh, THATS why I moved to SoCal!

How many of yous have a picture posted on SS some time last year, the night before the start, on a 50cc Honda, beer in one hand, go-fast-grip in the other, ciggy between the lips, popping wheelies on Ramada start/finish ramp ?

No there was no helmet involved, open or full face, yet again Ramada is not an RA event.

And they call me bad influence, I wonder why.

I wonder what special fuel cell requirements will be mandated by RA, in which people use the ciggie straw ?

I bet they would try to wrap me in fire blankets, make sure I am not blowing the smoke towards California, and put a spill kit and a bottle of Windex in the car for good measure.

I only smoke if I'm working on the car.

Which is all the time.

I've got one of these (1963 Vespa 125) which I've been working on forever... painted dark wine red. Had almost all the bits & pieces for about 6 years now, still haven't ridden it. Got the wrong forks for it I think, they don't fit right. Need to finish wiring and running cables and stuff.

I've been tempted to get rid of mine and get an old school Vespa. But, I really like the suspension travel and fatty tires on the Honda. I've considered carrying a breaker bar for those douchebags. There was one this morning in a purple Rav4. I pulled up beside him after he nearly ran me over twice. As tempting as it was to break out a window or something else of the sort, I simply said, "Cute car" and pulled up on the sidewalk and drove the wrong way down a one way to where I park everyday in front of my buildings doors.

I want to see that picture Mustafa. Here's a good "Safety First" picture. The video is even funnier.
