Richard Burns setup tips?
August 06, 2013 09:23PM
Anybody have some setup tips for me with Richard Burns? How do I get rally cars to under steer less on asphalt?? Is rebound supposed to be stiffer than bump, or vice versa?

Take rebound out of the front or add some to the rear. Soften front springs a bit. Add more rear brake. The rebound is ALWAYS stiffer than bump because bump only has to control with the unsprung weight and the spring force, rebound has to deal with the whole weight of the car. (or at least that corner of the car)

I've always stuck with default setups. Changing stuff usually lost me time.
Alex K. was always one of the fastest drivers I'd seen during the days of the specialstage RBR championships. He used default setups also.
What car are you driving? The S2000 cars are a blast.

I agree with Cosworth. I wouldnt take rebound out thow. I bet your set up has way to little rebound to begin with. Softer front springs helped my rallycar tremendously.

If your just on asphalt I would add camber to the front wheels.

how is your wheel set up? I spent a little bit of time playing with the lock to lock rotation and that helped with the turn in feel a lot. same thing goes for the brakes, changes to the pedals curves helped way more than any of the other settings ever seemed to do, maybe you are locking it up all the time?

1) LFB

2) I set up my wheel using paddle shift then used the gear change (logitech momo FF) for the handbrake and it worked well for the hairpins.

The fiesta s2000 2010 feels perfect, so I'm sure its not my wheel or the wheel settings.

I recently tried to get into this game. I feel almost like the subaru they give you in the beginning is too much, and it doesn't let you learn the controls. Constantly restarting trying to do the last training stage got old fast.

use the cheat code to open all tracks and all cars.
most people are running the Rallyesim mod for this game which adds about a hundred cars and lots of stage miles. http://www.rallyesim.com/accueil/index_en.html

It was not until this post, that I realized you guys were talking "Computer Game", and not "Autocross with a Rallycar".....

You need to install the car pack and track pack separately.

You need to install the car pack and track pack separately.

Just as important, you have to figure out how to use the RSRBR interface. Just firing up RBR after installing the mod won't see much difference.
