We don't need more people whose hobby is cars, we need more people whose hobby is racing.

this.

plenty of folks are perfectly happy to dump racing-level amounts of cash into cars as a hobby - cars that, best case get daily driven, if not reserved for sunny days or trailer queens.

Pretty sure the owners and/or builders of all of these think they're "car enthusiasts".

We don't need more people whose hobby is staring at and then going and wankin off cars, we need more people whose hobby is racing cars down gravel roads sideways.

A little clarification

That's why I asked for the definition.

There is absolutely NOTHING WRONG with the giga-dollars people spend on the vehicles pictured above - it is THEIR MONEY, and I am the last person to tell them how they should spend it.

Wankers. All I see is wankers...

You can get a few friends together and race Chump or Lemons on a McDonald's paycheck. But the world has way too many wankers. Too many talkers, not enough doers. Problem applies everywhere.

You know how many people say shit like, "life as you know it will change" or "well there goes your racing career" and things like that in regards to major life changes like marriage and babies. Fucking wankers. Your life only changes as much as you allow it to. We built and have now done two race weekends in the Chumpcar since my daughter's been born. Carl just bought a new built Honda rally car and pretty sure he has like a baby a year and keeps moving into cooler places that make me dream of life in the UP.

We were talking to this actuary broad at a wedding and she was astounded at the amount of money we spend on racing. We turned it around and asked her how much money she spent on car payments and rent/mortgages. She was then astounded when we told her how we choose to live. Mortgage payments under $500, never buying cars that cost more than a few grand and that we can pay cash for, etc. That's the problem with American culture. It's about what you have, not what you do. Fuck, how many people are rushing out to buy the newest I-Phone. I bought a used smart phone for $40 on swappa.com and signed up with Ting.com. My wife and my COMBINED cell phone plan with two smart phones is around $50 total per month. That's like half of what many people's individual plans are, cause they gotta stream Spotify all day at work so they "NEED" that unlimited data plan...

Fucking wankers. And now I get to drive across town in a fucking flood sharing the roadway with all these wankers. Thanks for making my day better. smiling smiley

Right. Just because they're not enthusiastic about cars in the same way we are, it doesn't mean that they're deficient as a human being or that they have a bunch of extra chromosomes. But if you drive a truck like that, you probably have at least 10.

Why do you even need brakes? Are you some sort of pansy or something?

I thought that truck was pretty mild. Frigidaire white, wheels can't me more than 22s, just a little too much chrome in the shock department. My pet peeve with trucks is the dual stovepipe up-stacks cut through the bed. Especially duals on an INLINE 6 Cummins (unless you're running twin turbos, one off each three cylinders, then I'll give you a pass).

Still fail to understand fascination with four and five figure car stereo, and the stance/hellaflush bit confuses me since I live on a dirt road that would kill a slammed car in a matter of a few minutes. I did see a mildly slammed Golf today with the plate RU18YET. Guess the DMV clerk hadn't had his/her coffee yet on that one.
