Every question is not an attack---dumb fucks.

Your quote kinda seems like an attack to me. If you had a genuine interest as to why there were cars driving so slow, you have an odd way of asking questions. confused smiley

Quote
john vanlandingham
You call puttering down a road at 70 km/hr average speed "driving in a rally"..? A STAGE rally ?

Well friend, we have different definitions of what driving in a stage rally means then..

Every question in the world is not an attack..

Get over it... If you don't see YOUR NAME in it then you are not the SUBJECT..
Remember "subject/verb" ?

The subject was CARs the verb "driving" and driving modified by :
In linguistics, an adjective is a "describing word", the main syntactic role of which is to qualify a noun or noun phrase, giving more information about the object signified.[1]

Adjectives are one of the traditional eight English parts of speech, although linguists today distinguish adjectives from words such as determiners that formerly were considered to be adjectives. In the immediately previous sentence, "traditional" is an adjective and "eight", while known traditionally as an adjective, is now classified as a determiner; and in the preceding paragraph, both "main" and "syntactic" are traditional adjectives.

Note how I respond to the little troll-boy from Calgary....there is no doubt about who the shit is returned to.

Again, pretending top be offended will not save rally.

kind of funny.. the nanny / spam filter at work won't let me load page 56 of this thread.

the rest of it loads even with all the cursing, but page 56 was just over the top ...

so why were we picking on Alex Lloyde? cause he's new and still driving at a new drivers pace? or cause he bragged about "winning the rally" with out saying " my class ... of 3 "

did Nick Roberts or Peter Fetila have good muds to run on? or was it just Higgins and i would assume ACP with the right tires and then a slew of other cars trying to make soft gravels work during a mud bog competition ? heheh

Alex I don't know who the guy is...There was the typical cutsie "I've got a secrets neener neener I know sumpin you don't" bullshit somewhere and hints and links to some guy driving in circles in some dumb series nobody cares about---so i was just wondering iif the noise is supposed to be a substitute for excitement---and , as always in America when there's hype, the turuth is invariably boring bullshit...

Who is he? Why should anybody care more than say Grenwis who at least I know a bit--seems like a nice guy.

Yeah on the business of gaps....and is it skill--With Hioggins for sure, or equipment
1 minute covers up to 4th or 5th place on average...

If you looked over the link to last weekends F-cup event
http://racingmaailma.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/F-CUP-YLEINEN.pdf

And look over it you can see 1 minute on SSs covering the entire field---that's just a tad closer racing...

And what would maybe save rally..
Close racing is more intense, more intensity means you try harder, you try harder you fell more satisfied...

I think we can see just using Gene's bullshit from yesterday when he lies and says I was going 50mph and Buffum was doing 60 and you were---balh blah you never done NUTHIN EVAR!!" for the 5000ths time----when the actual numbers was already from second even I was on average 2.2 mph slower and he was in the mid 40s...we see he dopesn't care---even when supplied the average speeds , he repeats "yeah that's what i said I was averaging 50mph, and you 40"
therefore you don't know anything (which is his intent)

We can conclude its an attack...

as for the description of Vokes, well you can't believe everything you read on bathroom walls evidently.
Sorry.

"B Spec" was a road racing thing Mazda and Honda got together on to make their crappiest (affordable) cars competitive with each other to "save racing" since they're having the same problem with no youngsters getting into racing. They get lapped 3x in a 1/2 hour race by Miatas. Pretty sure they're considered B body class (small) with A as super small and not for USA size people.

I'll defend anybody and every entry at LSPR who drove down those muddy, lake covered, swap "roads" we rallied on this past weekend. How are you at all able to make fun of or degrade someone who was at LSPR who drove 42mph average. You weren't even there. Photos don't even do it justice.

I'm in utter amazement that 2WD cars even made it down some sections of road. To go fast on those roads you would have needed swamper tires.
Do those come in 14" sizes? smiling smiley'

I think only the 45 car had true mud tires. He was super fast he caught and past me like i was stopped! It was an GD body N/A car. He was 3rd fast the last few stages of day 1. Conditons were as John discribes super muddy rainy crappy vision type roads. Some times may be slow for average speeds but i give props to the comitment a lot of guys gave. I did try to pull out the Honda from the one water hole he was stuck in. I couldnt do it with the power loss. I did manage to pull Pastrana out of the water hole he was stuck in!

Yes the Natinoal rally was a snooze but the regional top 6 were in a great battle!!

B-spec seems to be about the same as we have back in Finland, the V1600 (Stock1600). It is a great class for a beginner, or someone who is already cooling down, or is out there for just to have fun ( as 95% of the field is...). Really no tire costs, stock engine/trans will probably go for at least 3 full seasons if you just remember to keep some basic mainentance on, easy to drive, and all parts could be bought basically from any shop around..
So, compared for being tenth owner of an beat up grF Starlet, which has most of its parts from different makes, most of them assembled by someone called "Jaska" in some backwoods shop with crappy tools and knowledge, and rest of it self made from few pieces of metal and fluxwelder.. Really easy and good solution, and when you have a few of similar cars in class, you would still need to give best of you to win the class, just the same as the big boys with 100x more budget and technology on the front of the pack...
In US something like this could very well be the thing that saves rally, most of the hobbydrivers dont have the resources for top-of-the-line Open class 4wd, And many 2wd builds are also such an overkills technically, at least planned to be so, that they will end up behind the garage half-made at some point, or end up for sale for tenth of the expenses used...
We made our debut here with completely stock 318is BMW, 192000 miles on it. I built that car on home garage in 2 months, car it self had a pricetag of 750usd. Rollcage, secondhand Bilsteins and countless hours in ebay scavenging secondhand parts for it. Total cost including the car was 5K.. And at 100aw it didn´t miss a beat.. We had a blast, even got some looong sideways with it due the well used Michelins that we got for free from Wilsons team... Car wasn´t fast, as are not the B-spec crs, but it was easy to drive and held together for the whole event.. We won the Production on both days, best overall time in the whole pack 18th... National and regional combined...
So the cost of build isn´t everything, or Supra differential or mighty JVABS, not even to mention those Riegers that everybody seems to be talking about. If you check the stage times, compared to many 2WD cars for example James Robinson has been doing great with the Honda Fit, beating even many 4wd´s..
And cannot help saying, as John is so pissed for some reason for these B-spec or any other builds than 240´s or XR´s, seems that even back in the day production cars were quite fast compared to G2 Saab... =)

Shit, I paid too much! smileys with beer

There's nothing wrong with B-spec cars though it would be nice to have more than just 2 or 3 of them if its going to be a national level class. Our local hillclimb group has a rule that you need 6 cars average over the course of the season to create a new class, otherwise you just get lumped into an existing class (where you'll probably get whooped). Of course CD proved that just because you're in a B-Spec doesn't mean you have to be anywhere near the bottom of the results page. To be fair to B-spec, its not the only class that has suffered from low entries - Group 5 at Rally Colorado comes to mind.

Like others, I'd love to see them drop the national/regional breakout on the results, because quite honestly, it's embarrassing when a national series tries to portray a "pro" image when there are only 15 or 20 cars. If I were a casual observer I'd be more impressed with an event that had 60+ entries and a drive who took a spot on the podium out of a class of 15 or 20 vs a class of 3 or 4.

Mud slinging will save rally.

Lord knows this thread has enough of it. Knock it off you guys. There's plenty of room for that in some other thread. Start one if you need it.

Because, obviously, this isn't a point proving thread. This is about saving rally. winking smiley
