Moar classes, means moar winnerz, means moar happier people..

We've seen it before, 29 classes will save rally... Everybody is a winnerz.

The sponsorship dollars are going to burst forth and the problem will be to spend all the free money..if everybody is a winnerz.

Waiting lists will save rally.

Or, do they mean rally is saved?

2015 is a confusing time, indeed.

Anders, you should be hyping the cortez challenge more winking smiley

I just found out about it, too late for 2015, but if it still around for 2016 I'm in. Probably try to use a jeepspeed or 7s class offroad rig, they are so cheap to buy in california. The one I currently have my eye on finished the baja 500 last year. Great value for a couple thousand miles of racing!

Having a literate and likable Indy driver win a rally 1st time out will save rally.

(not telling that he beat one other car to do it with a S/F of 61 vs the regular driver's 78)

It looks like it will be a very cool event from the little I know about it. I'd like to read their event operations / scoring rules sometime.

Any thoughts on stagger starting bikes and cars to get more vehicles on course and racing sooner? Kind of like in golf where you don't always start on the first hole. So for sandblast bikes would start at campbell lake and cars would start at the same time on Hunters pond. Bikes would finish the race Hunters pond reverse, cars would finish on CJ's Loop. Bike would only have to ride in used tracks for one stage, but all the racing would finish earlier. Having been to Sandblast many times, i've never seen anyone make dinner for 5pm, except maybe the crew.

Running on time with a sold out race will surely save rally....

It would work.

It just takes more zero cars and sweep vehicles, and getting the volunteers to get out of bed even earlier than the 5am-ish they're getting up now.

I'm not willing to ask the volunteers to get up at 4:30 or 4.

getting up earlier will save rally!

Why would they have to get up earlier? The start time would be the same. Seems like you just need more people in blue subarus to run 0's

Yes, they would have to get up earlier.

Because Campbell Lake is still getting set up while Hunter Pond is starting. It's twice as long, it takes longer to set up. So everyone on Campbell Lake needs to get up earlier. And since there's sometimes some last minute parking lot swaps of marshals, based on need, all the OTHER teams would have to be there too.

And filling course cars with qualified people is tougher than you might imagine.
