The new SWRC (I assume) rally in Cedar City (UT) is going to save rally too!

(Well, it _is_ 3 hours closer than Seed 9 for pretty much all of Utah and Colorado. Course and cost will determine whether I consider entering...)

To her credit, at least there is the potential for some decent stages and that is not a bad tow from Denver depending on time of year. Winter or Construction. I-15 is 80 MPH limit through that whole area too.

I had a whole post typed up about how I couldn't believe how many entries they had for Seed 9, but it looks like it's all moot at this point since Seed 9 is apparently moving to the same venue/stage as the Arizona EXTREEEEEEM thing...

re: ESTD movie.
Nutcase Jim had a showing with a nice hi-def projector at his work Sat. nite in Buffalo, NY.
(sorry, the movie didn't save rally with this audience because only rally people go to see rally movies)

I have to say they were mostly interested in how JVL didn't seem as bad a guy as he is on the sites and there needed to be more Purple Panda in the movie. There were some other comments but those two had universal agreement with the 15 or so viewers. If we could just cut the middle of the country out and splice it together again, they'd love to hang with you guys.
just FYI

Yeah.. I dunno if that movie is going to help us get much new blood (though it is a really good vid). My takeaway from watching it is that 'Rally is going to make you broke.. very very broke'.

But then, that's true of most any racing save a select few.

That was the only real theme to the film. It was entertaining if you know the people. The clips were beautiful. There were a few local rally guys that don't have that personal connection as they don't really follow US rallying much anymore that seemed kinda bored at our viewing party, then again, my daughter was there and she's pretty fun.
Rally is an incredibly impossible thing to capture in a documentary format. ESTD did so awesomely and in entertaining fashion, though I wouldn't say it's going to bring in the next crop of fans and competitors.
I have brainstormed hard for the last five years how to make a good rally film. I never came up with a concept that I would want to watch. I applaud Matt for finding a formula that is highly entertaining!

Barely can muster the energy to say it... Travis Pastrana quitting the NASCAR will save rally.

Grassroots rally. It's what I think about.

If he comes back to rally that will be a good thing. He at least has a talented fan base (motcross) and brings in actual numbers to events. Ken rode the coat tails.

Wonder which rally this guy calls his home event? My guess would be STPR.

And I thought people were stupid for spending their own hard-earned money on a Monster sticker to advertise a company with a 9.1B market cap.

The next big thing is planned 70 miles of Stages for:

Quote
Both Regional Rallies $900.... $900...... $1,100
Quote
Championship & Regional Rallies $1,900.... $2,100..... $2,400

Save $1000 over entering separately.

A screaming deal @ only $34.28 per mile!
Otherwise if you entered separately it would be $48.57/mile
Act now and pay cash and save!
