The wings would probably give you a concussion within a few hundred miles of Dakar. Rally is smooth enough to not notice it. The first friend that took a chopper ride was from head ping ponging between the head wings after an off road excursion. Car was beat up, driver was fine, codriver had no clue where she was. im pretty sure legislation to bar committees from denying permits and charging fees would save rally

10. We had FIA Olympus for 3 years? (JV, Dave??) and probably hurt more than helped. 09. Travis, Block, Higgins hardly strangers to the world. 08. BS...rally wasn't any more popular under SCCA sole ownership. 07. Non-issue in my mind. Buffum did ok, Millen did ok. Block did ok. 06. Other American motor-sports suffer from time to time. Put a hit on Bill France jr??? 05. Run the cars together..wait ...GRC aka demo derby 04. Plant more trees in Brooklyn ? 03. Wrong, unkown to most Americans. 02. RA spent a fortune trying. 01. See 02. Of the listed items there is very little we can work on or change. Block tried the 'big times' and suffered a great deal of derision and negative posting on US forums. Jealousy maybe? I don't know. He tried..attaboy. My shorter list: 01. Cost for beginners is quite high, you really can't get your feet wet, you jump off the bridge. No real progression for beginners. 02. Cars, thanks to the current consumer tastes there is a lack of what many of us consider ideal cars. Little manufacture support. 03. Dirty sport, little available viewing. We race in the woods, bears shit in the woods. Must be some correlation... 04. Too much internal negativity for various reasons. Lack of cohesion. Soccer isn't exactly popular here either and it had mostly positives off that list. Such is life. Rally is somewhat of an outlaw rebellious sport and inhabited by many people of that nature. In reality many of us wouldn't do it if everyone did. I tried league bowling and square dancing many, many years ago...hated it. |

Oh man,TAG is so close but so far.
"Charms" could save rally. What motorsport didn't have to wait for 50 years to get noticed? Drifting. What did drifting have? Girls. If J.B. had taken my advice and hired 10 girls to wash every car when it came off the track, RA RallyX would have been huge. |
