Compare the whole tone and the gallons of bullshit of these guys doing rudimentary poor work, to those English farmers---not hero roll cage guys with da da DA DA DA music, just farmers of Project Binky fame.

All hope is lost.

No, I have no doubt he knew what he was saying.
They tried to have us little guys and it didn't work.
TV time is tight and 6,000 people have no patience when a
non-star holds up the racing.
(I'm talking to you Mr. guy who fell off the ramp and stopped everything for an hour)

Hey, it was well-written, factual and RALLY was in the lead sentence
in one of the largest circulation papers in the US.

The nutshell version:

Denise and Pat broke away from Rally-America and have their own insurance and rules. Their body is called Organizers HP Rally Group, LLC.

Mendocino Rally switched to using them two weeks before the event.

I was on the Mendocino Rally organizing staff and was caught by surprise but after reviewing the situation and insurance I OKed it and resumed organizing.

Mendocino Rally went swimmingly well. The event was sanctioned by the new body but not organized by them.

RA has been quiet the whole thing and sent a "good luck" message.

NASA RallySport organizers have expressed discontent with the situation and have initiated a campaign against it, both here and on Facebook, that questions the integrity of the group and makes disparaging remarks that stay just on the safe side of libel.

Politics as usual. As a competitor, review an event's rules, evaluate the insurance, and question any events whose organizers are also in control of the sanctioning body.

I don't even know what that means. If libel is "a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation" then suppose what you're claiming with "the safe side of libel" could be either of the two following:

1) a published TRUE statement that is damaging to a person's reputation
2) a published false statement that ISN'T damaging to a person's reputation

Is saying something is on the safe side of libel just a way to say you don't like something someone else said without having to show that anything was false or damaging, while implying that the other person is doing something nasty? To me that seems like an ad homonym attack without basis.

Here's everything I said. First, there was a picture of The Count from Sesame Street, with the text "1,2 3!! Three sanctioning bodies in America! Ah ah ah ahhhh"
With the subtitle: Always something new. That's what keeps it interesting.

Further comments of mine:
"Yeah, this is AMERICA and we have a can do attitude!"
"I've often said "The correct number of sanctioning bodies is one. Unless you have one, in which case, the correct number is two. Unless you have two, in which case the correct number is one." winking smiley" (smiley face included in original text)
"Tony, I'm not sure we're talking about the same three. One just started this past weekend."
"Negative. I'm talking about inside the USA."
"I doubt any sanctioning body will drive the others out of business. If any fail, it will be from their own internal reasons."
"Marc : I believe that no, usac is not doing direct rally sanctioning. As far as I know."
"I think he's pointing at the piles of money lining the course." (re: GRC)

So if you could just identify which of these statements is part of a "campaign", or which are demonstrably false, or which come close harming anyone's reputation, or is a disparaging remark, that would be great. Otherwise, I can't see how anything I said there amounts to more than "this exists". If you expect to be part of a tiny community like this and not have someone even say that they noticed a new organization did something, all I know for sure about that is you're in the wrong thread.

In an interesting twist, if there ISN'T:
-a campaign against it AND expressions of discontent
-by NASA Rally Sport organizers
-both here AND on facebook
-that questions the integrity of the group AND makes disparaging remarks that stay just on the safe side of libel.
as you claim there is...

well then my opinion is about the statement, if it were false, is that it would exactly meet the definition of libel. With all of your "ands", that's certainly a lot of conditions to meet that all have to be true.

It's a tie!
Three sanctioning bodies will save rally!
-or-
More lawyerly BS will save rally!
-or-
A zillion quoted posts will save rally!

Special price, today you can have all three solutions for the price of one!

With serious apologies to Stanley Kubric and his great film Spartacus.

"I am sanctioning body."
"I am sanctioning body."
No I am sanctioning body."
"I am sanctioning body."

"I am sanctioning body."
"I am sanctioning body."

"I am sanctioning body."

And I do mean it. I apologize..Don't know to who but just looking at that clip and remembering what a great film and the dramatic end to the Slave revolt, and the squabbling and bullshit from a tiny handful of people who feel compelled to do anything so that they're the boss..
Pitiful.
So I apologize for using the great scene just as a joke about a joke.

Mendocino Rally went swimmingly well. The event was sanctioned by the new body but not organized by them.

Since you are part of the organizing body, I'll ask this here.
Why? I speculate maybe lower sanctioning fees. Maybe even some subsidies since one thing the SWRC peeps seem to do well is get support from companies and people outside of competitors. And that it gives Mendo a series to be part of.
Why not? Why not CRS or Cascadia Series? Maybe tried and failed? There were 15 entries so kinda low but also kinda high for a SWRS event. We all know there are quite a few competitors that won't do anything SWRS in California. It feels like the event would fit in nicely to the Cascadia championship though it would be the furthest event for it.

Wait, it's part of both CRS and SWRS? Well, I guess that makes the above statements less important. Still, there are quite a few Cali competitors that don't seem to make it to that event for some reason.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Council_of_Nicaea
The First Council of Nicaea (/naɪˈsiːə/; Greek: Νίκαια [ˈni:kaɪja]; Turkish: Iznik) was a council of Christian bishops convened in Nicaea in Bithynia by the Roman Emperor Constantine I in AD 325. This first ecumenical council was the first effort to attain consensus in the church through an assembly representing all of Christendom.[5]

Its main accomplishments were settlement of the Christological issue of the nature of the Son of God and his relationship to God the Father,[3] the construction of the first part of the Creed of Nicaea, establishing uniform observance of the date of Easter,[6] and promulgation of early canon law.[4][

The First Council of Nicaea was the first ecumenical council of the Church. Most significantly, it resulted in the first uniform Christian doctrine, called the Nicene Creed. With the creation of the creed, a precedent was established for subsequent local and regional councils of Bishops (Synods) to create statements of belief and canons of doctrinal orthodoxy—the intent being to define unity of beliefs for the whole of Christendom.

Derived from Greek (Ancient Greek: οἰκουμένη oikoumenē “the inhabited earth”), "ecumenical" means "worldwide" but generally is assumed to be limited to the known inhabited Earth,(Danker 2000, pp. 699-670) and at this time in history is synonymous with the Roman Empire; the earliest extant uses of the term for a council are Eusebius' Life of Constantine 3.6[8] around 338, which states "he convoked an Ecumenical Council" (Ancient Greek: σύνοδον οἰκουμενικὴν συνεκρότει)[9] and the Letter in 382 to Pope Damasus I and the Latin bishops from the First Council of Constantinople.[10]

One purpose of the council was to resolve disagreements arising from within the Church of Alexandria over the nature of the Son in his relationship to the Father: in particular, whether the Son had been 'begotten' by the Father from his own being, with no beginning, or rather, begotten in time, or created out of nothing, therefore having a beginning.[11][11] St. Alexander of Alexandria and Athanasius took the first position; the popular presbyter Arius, from whom the term Arianism comes, took the second. The council decided against the Arians overwhelmingly (of the estimated 250–318 attendees, all but two agreed to sign the creed and these two, along with Arius, were banished to Illyria).[12]

Another result of the council was an agreement on when to celebrate Easter, the most important feast of the ecclesiastical calendar, decreed in an epistle to the Church of Alexandria in which is simply stated:

Well - uh - yeah. I guess we ARE running a campaign on Facebook.

But it's not about slander... It's about getting 20-28 year'olds who are interested in rally games and motorsports to learn about NASA Rally Sport (like us) and ultimately get them excited about building affordable 2WD cars and running rallies. Take a look!
