Maxxis is my ol buddies Cheng Shin Rubber. They did make some pretty darn OK moto-cross tires, still do..Good ol' C755 was a virtual copy of the great all-round great Metzler..

But realistically, it is a bit hard to swallow that they could be on par with the Michelins and if there was not a SUBSTANTIAL advantage someplace I'd be wary.

Compared way back to Metzler, I used Metzler when i was getting paid to race. I used Cheng Shin when I was playing at racing because they cost less than 1/2 what a metzler did.

So if these were 1/2 the price, then who cares is its just a smidge less wonderful-er-er.
At that price---I'd pass or look at D-macks which at least have been tried by guys going much harder than anybody in North Uh-merikuh.
But at a much better price I'd be ringing Black Rocket

Before you can save rally you have to maintain rally. Your $6,000 audio system may help maintain rally.

Whoa whoa whoa! Hit the brakes Don, I don't have a $6,000 audio system! (Nor any plans to get one.) smiling bouncing smiley

But your statement intrigues me, can you flesh out that thought?

ps: I am thinking about spending maybe $300-$500 on some kind of portable amp for driver's meetings and awards and volunteer meetings. Something better than a megaphone. Looking for recommendations ideas for that. Battery powered and weather resistant.

As long as it comes with a setting to distort your voice like the megaphone. Otherwise drivers will hear and understand too much.
