Nope, what killed Rally Colorado was it losing National billing, i.e. the Xgames schedule shuffle. The community wasn't willing to host the event if the big show wasn't going to be coming to fill hotel rooms with loads of spectators.

We still have 4-5 hillclimbs every summer where rally cars are welcome, and those are sorta similar to rallysprint formats (5-6 runs over a stage road over the course of a weekend, but single fastest run wins). I'd be willing to concede its possible that those events (and CORE) being around keeps people from being motivated to have a place to play and organize a new rally.
