Well, they're certainly determined to make it to their one event a year...

They must be doing something right in order to make $$$$$ questionable decisions on a (bi-?)yearly basis.

I'm mildly curious about the DNF once and finish once record and getting allowed to run a Group 5 car. But whatever, I hope they have some better luck. Would like to get a pair of brothers like that wandering into my shop with some new Fiestas.

One of them really gummed up stage 1 for us, as well as for the car ahead of us. We started 2 cars behind the higher "seeded" one, I think 648. The car ahead of us caught up to him about 2-3 miles into the stage, we then caught both of them about 4 miles into a ~9 mile stage. We couldn't pass, since we couldn't see anything except a dust cloud. All 3 of us finished in a span of ~20-25s.

The one good thing is when I asked him about jumping ahead at the start of 2 he had absolutely no problem letting us.

The cars were pretty to look at thats for sure.
We transited a portion of stg. 13 and all took a shortcut to 14 and #348 seemed to have a problem. Somehow fell back from the train far enough to loose the group and the dust cloud?
Naturally we had to follow them so we were in the same boat. They took a wrong turn at a T, away from 14 according to the map then came back around as we turned towards the right way. Not sure what was going on there.

As for mine and Jeff's embarrassing time, the car was essentially stock and running on one of four barrels in the carb most of the rally. Hey, still finished :-)

Were those cars just stock fiesta ST with a cage or did they actually add some rallybits to them?

I guess that's supposed to be a teaser and we have to tune in for the TV show to see the actually crash footage. Lame if so.

it's too bad, the turn out was looking good. even the competitor docs mentioned that the format for this year was a move towards and FIA style schedule.

Let's take a vote. Who thinks the USA needs an FIA style rally?

I'll start. I don't. I think we need just plain old affordable good rallies. Forget the FIA etc BS.
