No no no, the difference of one sound AND the other---2 tones around 1/850 a second apart ...or whatever the time interval is for a pulse going at 940 m/s travelling xx cm over a pulse going 940 m/s going a slightly shorter than xx cm

That is pretty weird. One sounds ok, the other not so much. I can tell you a V-10 Ford truck sound terrible if you modify the head pipes.

I'm sorry, but my car gives me a boner. A great tune, combined with whatever mystery V8 sti motor in it gives it some serious BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP.

I get a half chub just thinking about it. smileys with beer

Truly these are good examples of equal vs unequal headers and how they make sound.

Some crisp, altered, muffled, etc.

I'm a music buff so listening to different sounds amazes me and most often I catch myself opening the window to hear a car go by.

Like music.... You like it or notsmiling smiley kind of like a chubby or notwinking smiley

All i know is that #297 car sounds AWEFUL ... lol just kidding winking smiley (don't think greer visits here but i know him)

seems like people get sideways Way to late in the snow (for that turn) i dunno, how things works on snowy roads up in tahoe may not make for good stage times at all. But i can definitely get a turbo subie way more sideways than that...

When i do big white winter rally i am SOOOO ending up in a ditch.. but i'll post a good stage time or two before then ... unless i go in the ditch on stage 1... lol turn 1 .. which is likely ... lol

It's a really narrow road that is downhill (like 6%+ grade) with snowbanks on both sides right up until the entrance to the corner. Not much maneuvering room. And it was sheer ice. Without studs, heroics like you describe usually end with people either understeering straight through the turn and off into the ditch, or having the pendulum effect carry the car waaaaaaaaay wide on exit into the snowbank (which sucks you into the ditch).

Considering what happened in 2012, I was in no rush to ditch it on one corner. Massively sideways isn't fast anyways. winking smiley

A big part of Big White is simply staying on the road! But yes, probably one of the steepest downhill grades (its probably a good 300ft long of a downhill at at least a 6% grade), the video is very deceptive.

You should get the car put back together! Big White is the only event I am running this year (again sad smiley ) but it is so worth it. And Keith is making the event bigger with new stages/loops this year is my understanding... and rallysafe :p

All I heard in that video was cubic dollars being flushed down the toilet keeping an Audi rallycar together :p

Seriously though, after my 1993 S4 experience, NEVER AGAIN... even though I felt like an 80's wrc driver when sideways on winter roads in it (the sound is exhilarating for sure)!
