Engine has gone through certification, original numbers of 345hp/325ft-lb are wrong.

It's 350hp/350ft-lb.

I'm calling BS on those numbers...at least in Denver. Got to drive one on it's last cross country trip. Amazing mid-range (350 torques totally believable), but above 5k it really started to fall off. Stock 05 Evo felt like it had a better top end, but you do have to wind up the evo a bit more.

AWD system was interesting...but I've been sliding RWD stuff around a bunch more lately. Still feel like there's a little bit of the FWD first, then AWD kicks in, but I really only got to toss it around a couple corners in moderate anger. Since a bunch of it is computer controlled, entirely possible a flash could take care of the lag.

Other things - seats really nice & supportive, and car is too low for gravel.

Mine's been built and on a boat, due to arrive in Port Kembla on the 4th June. I've been told on another forum that they will not be released to dealers here until 22nd June. Not such a problem for me as we'll be in Sardinia for the WRC until a bit after that.

Fully loaded one here in N.Hollywood goes for $42,500. Just waiting for them to take it out of the showroom and use it for test drives! My ST is paid off already, but I think I'll save my money. Too big a car!

I'd forgotten about this thread, ok, so I'm old! Ours was waiting for us when we got back from Sardinia. There are some rumours that they will be recalled and have the 'drift' mode disabled. Won't bother me as it's unlikely to be ever out of 'normal'! As I said, I'm an old fart.....

Here in oz, there are a couple of dealers selling them close $20,000 (aus) over what I paid. I guessing they reckon if you want one enough.

It's odd. I have heard of people pre-ordering at list, some dealers got $10k over, others have one on the lot and can't move it.

Me, I soured on the whole thing with the words "electronic suspension". Sorry guys, this is where I get off the train. I have repaired enough failed electronic suspension bits to know that I don't ever want to be on the billable end of that equation when it fails.

I checked out the paintwork on one and it looks like orange peel! I guess people don't care about quality these days! My sub $20,000 one has a better paint job!

Seems like they got the oil temps issues figured out. -200°F should work great!

Atashitte honto baka.

I personally wonder how much of the R's active handling experience was used by Ford when they made the Focus RS.

My, how times change. Staring at new electronic struts for the Volvo, think I should be mad that the originals only lasted 246k miles?

It is waaaay too fun to play with the damper settings in real time, or let it do its thing automatically...

There is a dealer in Columbus with an unsold '17 RS that they keep listed at $70k.
