Wedding picture contest
November 30, 2007 05:07PM
Lauren and I had a wedding picture nominated as one of our photographers top pictures of 2007. He's having a contest that's award is a $50 gift certificate to dinner and a 11X17 of the photo. So go and vote for us now! We're photo 5 and we need to beat those kids on the swings. It's a nice easy way to say Merry Christmas.

Where'd you find such a cutie pie for a wife?

You hold on to her!

Done, and while you're at it, don't forget to help name Greenpeace's new whale:

it's in the lead over their usual lame-ass treehugger names!

Thanks everybody. We went from 7 votes to 100+ votes thanks to the power of the internet, rally friends, family, merkur guys, etc.

Lauren and I met when we were both working at the sushi bar. She'd been working in banking for a few years and was over it and took the job at the sushi bar for fun and to have some income while she searched for a new job. I was bored and depressed and it was cold outside and I had no rally car and just a set of Compomotives and JVAB suspenders and a scooter and all my friends lived to far to scooter to hang out with and going to the bar by yourself just gets old so I got a second job at the sushi bar during evenings and weekends to meet new people and have extra money to blow on rally parts (~$10K additional earnings that went 100% to rally car from the job.) We started dating in August of last year and quickly realized we were perfect for each other and were engaged by January and married in June.

Congratulations Grant and thanks for sharing the story.

This has got to be the longest sentence I have ever read (I think I had to exhale/inhale at least twice while reading) :

"I was bored and depressed and it was cold outside and I had no rally car and just a set of Compomotives and JVAB suspenders and a scooter and all my friends lived to far to scooter to hang out with and going to the bar by yourself just gets old so I got a second job at the sushi bar during evenings and weekends to meet new people and have extra money to blow on rally parts (~$10K additional earnings that went 100% to rally car from the job.)"
