So is Duplessis being sponsored by RA and Ford another "this will save rally" idear? I feel like its a legitimate way to get more people interested in rally in the US, having someone compete on the world scene like KB. I think Chris' "story" needs to be advertised more, but that will hopefully come with time.

You may need to right-click save as and then view it on your computer. It's a PDF, it's safe.

On Duplessis, it's totally awesome for him. A lot depends on the package... is it a full ride? Or just air fare? Who knows. I'm excited to see how he does. But there won't be any coverage that doesn't mention his sponsors, so the message received will be "Want to go rally? Get sponsored by Ford / other fortune 500 company." which is obviously not sustainable for an entire sport.

I still think the Caswell story has a better angle to actually get people racing. Build it in your own garage, no sponsors, POR, etcetera. (Gah, don't get started on "It didn't cost $500." Yes, we all know that. That's irrelevant. I'm talking about the story/message and what it could do.)
