Shouldn't this be in the "This just in! For immediate release: The NEXT big thing that will save US Rally" thread?

Maybe. But considering RA hasn't confirmed anything directly, this is still rumor until someone steps up to confirm.

But the next thing to save rally? Rally! smiling smiley

The proof is there for those who want to make phone calls to various entities not including RA.

But what about the Birth Certificate?

They've spent 200,000,000 to prevent showing the birth certificate.
Why won't they show us the proof?drinking smiley

How do you figure?
Loses? Or getting the fuck out?

All? Like the ones happening with TORC or whatever later in the year also?

Also, why would I care? It's not stage rally and we all know that's the only real rally. Rallycross has and always will be some way to try to make something more affordable and marketable. Me, I care about driving obscure scary roads at dangerous speeds that would make my mom shit herself.

This thread is annoying me.
RA loses makes it sounds like they were told by the GRC organizers that they would no longer be the sanctioning body for the GRC events. It also makes it sound like the future events are also lost to RA.

However, the press release from RA saying that they would not be sanctioning nor would the Pikes Peak event count towards the Rally Cross championship sent the week of the event implies to me that RA is pulling out. That there is still future events is implied by the statement that the coming event is not going to be part of their championship.

I've also heard that there is no course setup happening, no dirt being moved in and no company contracted with heavy equipment to move said dirt.
I've also heard that there is no video production company being brought out to create the TV show.
I've also heard that they haven't paid money to people from previous events.

All this to me looks like a failure of Gale and Company. RA was only involved in an operational aspect and providing sanctioning and insurance. Were they paid? Are they cutting there losses and getting the fuck out? That's what it looks like to me and what I'm hoping for. Rally America and NASA both serve a purpose and can and should coexist. Gale and Co and their lets try to capitalize on rally cars popularity by inventing our own version of the Street League of Skateboarding or the Dew Tour and see if we can't make a bunch of money. Yeah, fuck those guys. They do nothing for me and I would be just as happy without.

Mark's working down in that area this week. 6 pm to 4 am schedule out in the field. Told him to drive up to PPIR and do some recce to see if they are doing any track prep. He was eating at the same restaurant as No Skillz last night apparently.

I'd hate to be one of the green circles on this list.

If they do pull this off, anyone want to make any wagers as to who is going to wreck their car over the jump this time? Like Pro Picks kinda. I'm guessing Rooney since he's never done the X Games jump or a GRC jump and has wrecked plenty of cars in stage rally.

Trivia: Has there been an event, GRC or previous X Games, with a big jump in which at least one car wasn't majorly crashed during the event or practice?

Best description of rallying ever!

And I agree that it seems like (I hope, anyway) RA may be trying to distance themselves from Gale & Co. who are just the latest group of dullards with zero motorsports experience of any kind, that think they are going to come in and revolutionize things and make a bunch of money.

Most of the teams haven't been showing paid. I think pay at reg. is normal for Euro rallyx.

Video of the course posted...no dirt in sight yet.
